When to get vaccinations for my baby, and is there a shot that entails 'everything in one' shot??

You would never want an "everything in one" shot. That would bombard your child's immune system. There are combination shots that combine 3-4 vaccines into 1, but I personally am not crazy about them. If there is a reaction to the vaccine, you don't know which one caused the problem, and when you add up the contents of the different vaccines, you could be pumping in large amounts of common contents, such as aluminum. My thought is that it's better to have a few more shots that will hurt for a little bit but not be so h*** o* baby's system, but these days there aren't options for some of them.
I would suggest that you get an official copy of your vaccine record before coming to the States. The pediatrician will need it to determine what else is needed, if any, and you may need it for school at some point in the future.
Honey, you better get educated by reading. There are no safety studies on the schedule of vaccines recommended by our health services. My hope for you is that you learn how to keep your baby healthy. Check out www.nvic.org for detailed info on what you may be concerned about, because our CDC (www.cdc.gov) is under fire for the lack of studies and the huge numbers of escalating immune disorders, neurological disorders, diabetes, etc that have accelerated perfectly with the huge increase in recommended vaccines since 1989. There is a book by Dr. Sears on Vaccines and Mothering Magazine has a large number of articles on Vaccines and Autism (you may have to call them www.motheringmagazine.com) to get the compilation. The CDC have up to 54 vaccines planned for your little baby before the age of 5 (those numbers can go up to 64, I think, but I am starting to lose track with all the additions). It is not easy to get the "real" truth, but seek it before you risk the health of your little 16 week old. J
M., I finally read Dr Sears' "The Vaccine Book: Making the Right Decision for your Child" -- no agency monitors the combination of ingredients given to your infant, and no study to date has measured their cumulative effect, only individual shots have been measured.
His book details what goes into each shot, how manufacturers vary, and what the recommended shot schedule combines at once. I really appreciated the factual take, giving you the entire "picture" to make an educated decision:) His website is www.askdrsears.com.

It's such a personal decision and I hope you take a moment for your son like I finally did for my second child. It's made me feel so much better to KNOW what the doctor is putting into my child -- so many times we don't feel we have a choice, but it's our bodies, and our children depend on us to be informed for their sakes.

My best advice is to do your homework. I'm a parent that doesn't vaccinate according to the schedule. I also will always refuse certain vaccines like varicella. You can find a standard chart online by Googling though. Hope this helps!
