I have had about 3 UTI's over the last 2 1/2 to 3 yrs.

I felt like I had a UTI a few days ago, but, I took an Azo test (rec by my urologist) and I have negative nitrites--again...but, soooo much frequency !!!

I had really bad back pain last week and i thought I had a UTI. The results came back on the border. It is so confusing !!

I never know when I have a UTI because I don't have any burning.

I always feel like I have a UIT because I have frequency. I have more frequency before my period comes!!!

I am just about ready to give in and go on over active bladder meds for quaility of life...

I just went back on probiotics

Any thoughts

What can I do next?

I had the same symptom of frequency you describe and it was worse before my period came. The urologist determined I was having bladder spasms because I had a kink in my urethra. It took him about 10 seconds to fix it by stretching out my urethra. Now I don't get up at all in the middle of the night to go to the bathroom.

Go to a urologist.

If I take a cranberry supplement or drink a lot of cranberry juice I don't have any UTI problems.
Taking the supplement every day just heads off problems.
I've never had an over active bladder.

Have you seen your md (gyn)? I had those symptoms, had ultrasound and found out I have fibroids pressing against my bladder. It can also be just hormones going nuts prior to your period.

Before i got to the last sentence of your question I was going to suggest probiotics. Now I want to suggest that you are on a GOOD probiotic. Many probiotics out there are not sufficient. A probiotic is supposed to be healthy live bacteria, but many of the probiotics on the market cannot survive packaging or the trek to your gut. Do your research, choose a good probiotic and consider adding in a prebiotic (prebiotics feed healthy bacteria) and stay on them.

If you would like a recommendation for a good pro and prebiotic privately message me.

I hope this helps.

I don't know, I am often in the same boat, especially with the frequency. I have been doing Kegels and those help, but I still have to go when I have to go.

I don't think mine is related to my period though. However, I can see how it would be because the uterus gets all cranky.

I do try to go more often, before I HAVE to go, and I try to regulate what I drink while I am working, and that helps too. If you find a great answer, please share it! Good luck!
