Ok moms, I am writing in hopes that someone else has or is going through this and can help! I feel like I'm losing my mind. Since February I've had pelvic, leg and lower back pain(with intercourse, arousal, full bladder, constipation or even ovulation) - did an ultrasound and found 2 fibroids (1/2" each which they tell me is no big deal) and suspect I have endometriosis (lots of family history). I've tried BC pill but ever since having kids they make me extremely moody so the Dr recommended I stop but other options are not very good either. I can do Depo (same side effects as pill) another shot to enduce menopause (not great symptoms there either) or laproscopy surgery to see what's going on and burn off endo if they find any. Last resort is hysterectomy -- which I can't even do because it's a 6 wk recovery & I have no short term disability and can't miss that much work.
This is draining me emotionally & physically. I'm turning into someone I don't want to be but can't seem to get a grip and control my temper or moods. I was hoping someone may have tried something natural or know of something to try. Any advice is very grealy appreciated!!!!!

What can I do next?

Hi there!

E-mail me if you want ot learn more.
I have Fibromyalgia and was mis-diagnosed for over 15 years for Endom... My twin suffered with the fibroids during pregnancy only. They are gone.

I can pass along some info that may or may not be useful to you. Let me know either way.

H.,

I'm glad you wrote about this. I have been dealing with painful fibroids for about a year now. I was mostly having back and leg pain, but now I am having terrible pelvic pain and pressure. I had an ultrasound done and one of the fibroids is as large as a grapefruit and several are golf ball sized. I am having them removed in a couple of weeks by a laser procedure and am hoping for the best. If your looking for a great women centered clinic where the doctors are compassionate and very highly expereinced in this issue I suggest Partners OB/GYN in Maplewood. The doctors and staff are all women and the doctors are highly trained on womens issues. Check them out at: http://www.partnersobgyn.com/

I've known several people that have gone to them for complicated issues and have had nothing but good things to say about their experience and care.

Good luck with this!

i would have the laproscopy. I had pain like that too..and it can sometimes turn out to be ovarian cancer. Those are the classic signs.. if your not having any more children, a hysterectomy and NO hormone therapy is the best way to go... Uterine and endometroisis cancer runs in our family... have samples taken from the inside of your uterus, this is what my dr does for me every year to make sure i do not have cancer. best to be safe then sorry... j

Hi H.
I have had the same issues you are haveing. I ended up haveing a hysterectomy. But that didnt really help with my pain so I mentioned it to my chiropractor and she has been doing some light pressure work on my stomach that has completley taken away my pain. If you do not have insurance that covers chiropractic care I would ask for a refferal to physical therapy. I am sure this will help alot. I also wanted to add my hysterecotmy has saved my marriage because it completly took away my mood swings. So if you ever think you can do it I would highly recommened it. If you would like to talk more please send a messasage.:)T.
