I am thankful that immunizations are here. When I was a kid they were not available yet. I saw many kids with Polio, I had Chicken Pox, a lot of my friends had Mumps and Measles, so many diseases that limit the diseases effect on society.

I wonder, how many people would refuse a breast cancer vaccine if one became available. How many women would rush to get one so they did not have to worry and do self exams and wonder. Every food has disgusting things in it. My friend took microbiology in medical school and can hardly eat anything without gagging.

I don't think it matters what is in them, statistically they work.

Ask to read the package insert. It should list the ingredients. It should also list the risks associated with that vaccine.

Whatever's in there, it has saved many childrens' lives!

Do we know every ingredient in every medication, or food for that matter, that we've ingested in our life? And if so, do we have the level of science education it would take to fully understand the chemical and physical impact of each of those ingredients? No.

nothing.. i am a nurse and we are only responsible for injecting and checking the effects of immunization to babies and adults.. some are from plants and animals and people who had been sick. there are two types of vaccines the live and attenuated or weakened.. not from aborted babies because they have no contact yet with specific bacteria or virus so we cannot get anything from them. there is also protein in this immu, we have to feed the live bacteria and virus so we keep them in the fridge...

dont worry too much guys.. there are only two effects of immu to people alergic reactions and the injection site pain.

we should not hinder mothers to have their babies immunized because the effects are far more better than the pain they tolerate on injection...

Nothing. Just ask the doctor or nurse for the insert that comes in the box of immunizations. It tells you everything. I am a nurse and have given thousands of kids their shots, including mine. Trust me, there's no doctor/nurse conspiracy going on!

I don't think that the doctors and nurses necessarily are *not* telling you what is in the vaccines. The thing is, they have no clue themselves. Get the package inserts and read them yourself. You can get them at your doctor's office, the public health office, and online. They contain aluminum, which is a huge contributor to brain diseases, like alzheimer's; formaldahyde, which has been named a carcinogen by the epa (http://www.epa.gov/ttnatw01/hlthef/formalde.html); aborted fetal cell lines in many of them (MMR, Chicken Pox, ProQuad, HepA, DTaP, Hib, Polio, and Rabies) http://www.vaccine-tlc.org/human.html; mercury http://www.vaccine-tlc.org/mercury.html; and many more things you wouldn't want to inject into your child.
About the fetal cell lines, there are several different ones: Wistar RA273, WI-38, and MRC-5.
MRC-5 was developed in September 1966 from lung tissue taken from a 14 week fetus aborted for psychiatric reasons from a 27 year old physically healthy woman. http://ccr.coriell.org/Sections/Search/Sample_Detail.aspx...
WI-38 was derived by L. Hayflick from normal embryonic (3-month gestation) lung tissue of a female http://www.viromed.com/services/product/wi38.htm
The rubella vaccine currently used in the U.S. and in most countries was developed after an American researcher at the Wistar Institute cultured rubella virus from a fetus aborted because the mother was infected with rubella. This vaccine is called RA 27/3 because the rubella virus was isolated from the 27th aborted fetus sent to the Wistar Institute in the 1964 rubella outbreak. http://www.wistar.org/tech_transfer/technologies/rubellat...

Do NOT use the CDC website! They leave out so much information. Call the manufacturers yourself and have them mail, email, or fax you the ingredients. (That's what I did, and how I know the CDC omits A LOT.) Your Dr. might have the inserts, as well. Most just throw them away. They don't usually even know the ingredients themselves.

Yuki left out aluminum, formaldehyde, monkey cells, bleaching agents, chemical agents, and the list goes on. Don't listen to any of us, and get those ingredients from the manufacturer.

Sure, read the labels, but understand what the ingredients are before you freak out about them. Formaldehyde, for example, is often mentioned as a scary vaccine ingredient, but formaldehyde is made by the human body and occurs naturally in the air we breathe. It is also emitted as a byproduct of cooking certain vegetables, such as Brussels sprouts and cabbage and our bodies metabolize it easily so it doesn't accumulate in our cells.

Does it still sound scary to hear that it is used as a preservative in some vaccines?

Do some research. It is not a false claim.
The abortions were done many, many years ago-they use the same cell lines from those aborted babies.
So while there are not aborted babies in your child's vaccine-the cell lines are there.
I could list tons of links but I am sure you would refute them as bs.

Let's not freak each other out with unsubstantiated claims of random ingredients.

Check the CDC and manufacturer's website, good ideas both.

Lots of stuff I'm very thankful my daughter was able to receive!!

As mentioned, it's not a big conspiracy between the doctors and nurses and "Big Pharma" isn't the root of all evil. Do you really think all of those scientists are just out to get us??

The human diploid cell strains from aborted babies were from 2 aborted fetus, from around the 1960's from Sweden (or Norway or someplace along those lines) It's been awhile since I've done that research. Those are the only two that were used, no more cells from aborted fetuses have ever been used since, apparently.

All that said, I still vaccinate my children b/c a life with many of these diseases can be devastating or fatal. And so many people are opting out, that herd immunity isn't nearly as effective as it once was.

The CDC Center for Disease control came out with a public statement that parents using the vaccine which originated with the aborted fetal cells are in no way supporting abortion. The issue is, whether they continue to use new aborted fetal cells or not and that is unclear. Apparently a few years ago, they patented new technology for using fetal cells, since the lifespan of the original cells eventually die off;

http://www.cdc.gov/vaccines/vac-gen/laws/rubella-cathnews...

"Some vaccines such as rubella and varicella are made from human cell-line cultures, and some of these cell lines originated from aborted fetal tissue, obtained from legal abortions in the 1960s. No new fetal tissue is needed to produce cell lines to make these vaccines, now or in the future."

one source/reason;
From an article in American Journal Diseases of Children (referenced here):

Explant cultures were made of the dissected organs of a particular fetus aborted because of rubella, the 27th in our series of fetuses aborted. This fetus was from a 25-year-old mother exposed to rubella 8 days after her last menstrual period. 16 days later she developed rubella. The fetus was surgically aborted 17 days after maternal illness and dissected immediately. Explants from several organs were cultured and successful cell growth was achieved from lung, skin, and kidney. It was then grown on WI-38. The new vaccine was tested on orphans in Philadelphia. I am sure that many things that we ingest into our bodies have undesirable ingredients, If someone does research long enough they can always sway statistics to prove a point. I think it is important to look at the number of lives saved by these wonderful accomplishments. The air we breathe is not so good..............

look it up on the internet - some doctors publish the ingredients.

many include formaldehyde, aluminum, and mercury-derived thimerasol, and can have other ingredients like chick embryo and fetal tissue.

ask your own doctor too - he/she should be able to give you a list of ingredients, or go to someone who will (i don't know what the laws on this are - they may have to disclose ingredients by law).

good luck with your research!

How many cockroach parts are in the candy bar you just consumed? How many pieces of rat or mice feces are in the can vegetables you just served your children?

There are federal limits for the two above...you gonna stop eating chocolate or serving veggies?

I am sorry, but "cell lines from aborted babies?" Really? Care to include a link to some legitimate info on that claim? I'm interested in seeing more on this...

My advice is to seek out whatever packaging is included with the immunization, contact the manufacturer & get specifics, and do your own research. Don't take the info you're getting here as 100% correct & factual.

you can probably check the CDC...or when you go to get them, ask the doc or nurse for the package insert from the immunizations. it also has more side effects on them than the flyer they give you.

you can check out the CDC website and you can also ask the pediatrician for the maker of the immunization and go to their website before you immunize if you are concerned.
