Hello ladies,
Well is is starting to seem that we have gone and gotten me knocked up again......! This will be baby four and we are both shocked. He got the test, there were zero swimmers and now just one month after my cycle had returned, I find myself late and getting a very faint line on two pregnancy tests, YIKES!!! So has this happened to you are someone you know??? How did you take it??? We are definitely going to receive our child with joy, but it is shocking. For all you moms of 4 or more, is it true that 4 isn't as nuts as when you brought home your third? Any thoughts, warm wishes or kind words would be so appreciated....thx

What can I do next?

So What Happened?

No bun in the oven after all!!!!!!!! Period went nuts, was two weeks late and then a bear, don't know if that was a super early miscarriage or just nuts hormones, but as it stands we are all good and still just three baby boys :) Don't have a clue about the early faint tests, just weird, but I have noticed the older I get the weirder life gets.....;)

This was a "meant to be child"!! In my book a faint positive is still positive...go to your doctor and get a blood test to be sure!!!

J.,

Congratulations! I know you didn't plan this baby. But he/she is meant to be here. Give yourself some "me" time to get used to the idea and embrace your family! You are blessed~ I have a best friend who has five kids and she always says that after 3 kids its nothing to add another child into the mix. This little one will do just fine. Take care, M

I would ask for a refund on the vasectomy and use it for the new baby. lol CONGRATS! I always wanted 4-6 kids, had 2 and now a step from my second marriage. I don't have any advice, just enjoy...children are a handful but such a blessing. =)

My DH's coworker has a son who is now in college. Born 15 years after his youngest oldest sibling. BIG surprise to Mom and Dad because Dad had been snipped (not sure the timeframe on the surgery vs the pregnancy). Oops. On the plus side, the mom has told DH that this son in particular has been such a joy and she is so happy to have been surprised. I hope your surprise is just as wonderful.

(To quote Roseanne when she was talking to DJ after someone called him a mistake: A surprise is something you didn't know you wanted til you got it.)

We have 4 kids.... the first 3 were born within 4 years (August 82, April 84, August 86), so THOSE were definitely crazy years! Our 4th was born 5 years after the others.. (November 91), so it was really kind of nice to have a little one around the house when the others went off to school.

At that point, the older ones were more than capable of helping out around the house, and helping with the baby.... Yes, we had more things I had to drag the youngest around to, but it is very doable.... I will say, though, we didn't HAVE to deal with all the boosters in the car, since there are now requirements that children stay in boosters for a longer period.

We had a mini-van by that point, so that made things much easier.. more room in the car for all the kids, plus all the assorted stuff!

Although our situation was different (#4 was a request...), I can't imagine life without him!

CONGRATS!!!! if i remember correctly your the same J. B that has kids close to my kids age (son four, jan baby and daughter 2 february baby). the momies i have seen who have more than three seem to have it together more so than the momeis with three? idk how or why this would even be true and it is the outside looking in. i love the 19 kids and counting mommy. the mommies that i recall having more than three all seem to have the same calm matter of fact patience. Btw after baby number two i had my tubes lazored and higly do NOT recomend it. too many horrible side effects to which the solution now is a choice of , birth controll pills (which i was against for a number of reasons including not taking for a prolong years due to the cancer connection of too much estrogen), a historectomy (i am 32 ), or reversing the tubes. i wish my husband would have got the snip. but we decided on this and i regret it. i wish my doctor was honest with me when i asked if there were any side effects and he said " no there arent any side effects" with a look on his face like that was the stupidest thing he ever heard. just a warning. and the women i asked since the procedure have said the same things about the side effects.

I know several people this happened. Last week my husband got paired up with someone on the golf course that was expecting twins after his vasectomy.

Four kids is a lot easier to indoctrinate into the family - it only took about 7 -10 days for everyone to adjust to the new family dynamic. However, I do find 4 kids much more challenging than 3.

Wow, a faint positive is def still positive, but you could go see your doctor to be sure. If you got rid of a lot of your baby stuff, you could have a shower. Im usually not in favor of having showers when its not your first baby, but in this case you deserve one for sure!

you can get pregnant up to a year or so with a vesectomy. thats why they say to use condoms or other forms of contraception.
Congrats on the little shocker (theres a nick name for the baby).
