How old were your children when they felt they were too old to dress up & go trick or treating?

Thanks!

So What Happened?

Thanks everyone! I feel ok about him going. He is only 8 so I didn't really think he was too old for it - just don't recall seeing many of his classmates last year so just wanted to see what you guys thought. He really wants to go and that's really the most important thing to me. If he is still having fun then I'm cool with it. Thanks again!

my 14 year old still wants to go.
I remember that in middle school it was the silly thing to do because we were way too old to go, but did anyway just to get candy

My daughter will be 14 in Dec. She is having a costume party tonight for about 25 people.

Halloween night, she is going to a friends house for a costume party, sleepover and I am sure they will do some trick or treating.

They feel more independent right now and love to get out on their own a little bit within reason to have fun.

As for the kids who come to my door. I have a ton of children come through and a lot of them are 13-17. I am surprised at some of the ages.

Alot of it to me depends on when you feel like its time to make other plans to keep them safe...
Maybe offer a party at your place instead to keep the wanted ones in and the unwanted ones out!
You can come up with alot of fun games!!!!

My girls went out last year, and they were 14 and 15.... I don't know about this year. My son stopped at 13.

I did it til I was in 7th grade (is that 12?), and loved it. Of course, I had my younger brother with me, and my friend had hers too, so we were "babysitting" as well as having fun. After 7th grade, we were more interested in Halloween parties.
My neighbor's son is 10 and doesn't know if he wants to go this year or not. I think it just depends on the kids, AND the kids' friends.

My daughter will be 15 in May and still wants to go.. Matter of fact we have a softball tournament that weekend and we thought we were going to have games on Friday night the whole team was going to make me drop out of the tournament because they were going trick or treating.

My daughter didn't want to go at first last year, when she was in 7th grade, but day of, she decided she wanted to walk around with her friends. I let her, 2 year younger brother and their friends go all together. It was the first time I didn't walk with them. My husband was out of town, so my 1 year old at the time, stayed at home with me and we passed out candy. She says she doesn't want to dress up this year... we'll see, it's not October 31st yet...
I think I went until 7th grade... then I just made sure my baby sister went...LOL
