Britax is great!!! I got the Roundabout and that fit my son till he was about 2 years and 4 months (he's tall and it only goeas to 40lbs and 40") so I totally agree with Andrea and say get a Britax but get the Boulevard or Marathon to last you longer. He is now in Sunshine Kids that is a 5point harness/booster seat.

The biggest factor, keep them in a 5 point harness till as long as you can, Britax models offer the best.

We have the Britax Roundabout and it's so easy to use. It's pricey but very safe and worth it.

I have a Combi Avatar and am really happy with it. We switched when my daughter was too long for her Graco infant seat and she is still rear facing in the Avatar even though she is 13 months. So it works for tall babies. It is pretty big though, so depending on your vehicle it may be a squeeze with 2 of them.

Good Luck!

I just bought the Alpha Elite Apex. It is by Safety 1st. It is the only car seat you will need. It is only forward facing, but goes from 22-100 lbs. You can also use the 5 pt harness to 65 lbs, which I consider a HUGE plus. It is only at Babies R Us or online.

I'm in the same boat, and am considering a Britax product as well, mostly because my 8-month old son has almost outgrown his infant seat and I do not want to buy 2 or 3 more over his 'car seat lifetime'.

HI,

I have Graco Seat that is only the second stage seat and only forward facing seat with a recline while installed. I love this seat and so does my daughter. Its an expensive second stage seat with upto 40 lbs only. At one she is too young to sleep sitting and we do long distnace travel. She has taken 15 hrs car travel pretty well, with only two breaks.

All the best with yrour decision.

Hello,

We bought the Britax Marathon. It's little expensive, but we were going on long road trip (Colorado) and I read comfort was a plus with this one. So far so good.

I moved my daughter to the Britax Decathalon when she was about 7 months old (she was too tall for the infact carrier!). It has been a fantastic seat and says it will accommodate up to 65 lbs (although I'm sure we'll switch her to a booster sooner than that!!!!).

Good luck!

Like many others, I also recommend Britax because of the high safety ratings and their ease of use. We bought a Roundabout because it got the best ratings and love it, but as another responder mentioned, our son is about to out grow it. We will soon be purchasing a Marathon. While I haven't personally experienced the Marathon, I've heard great reviews online and from friends and would recommend going that route if you're looking for something to last you a few years.

I did a lot of research before we bought our Britax. It was the highest rated for safety (at least 2 years ago it was) and very high marks in satisfaction. I really like it but it is pricey ($250). I got it for $200 on-line somewhere.

Britax Boulevard (that is what I have) will support up to 65 lbs. Has height adjustable side impact protaction that others don't. The Britax Marathon is great too (EPS foam).

It will depend a little on their height and weight though there are a few good choices out there. We went with the Britax Marathon (I had 2 under 2 and the seats fit in the cars without issue), but my kids are in the 90th percentile for height and weight so I wanted something that would last. The Marathon goes to 65 lbs and 43 inches, but my now 4 yr old outgrew the height just before turning 4. It supposedly goes to 43 inches, but it was at the highest setting and she was still too tall for it at 42 inches.
