My LO has very pale skin that gets red and irritated very easily. Sometimes it gets red and prickly in the day and then subsides at night and when he wakes in the morning. Any tips for skin care????
Thank you for all of the tips. I am using Aquaphor and Aveeno products, as well as Cetaphil. His skin is still sensitive, but at least I feel like I can do something to alleviate some of the irritation. I will still try some of the other mentioned products in time.

I've had success with Aveeno Baby lotion. Also, California Baby is a great line of organic baby products. They're both sold at Publix and Target. Good luck.
There are tons of different products people will tell you about & it will be trial & error. Just do NOT bathe your child daily- only when dirty or really sweaty. Skin oils are actually what you remove & try to replace w/ a;; of the moiturizers...
My kids have very sensitive skin both of them. If you've ruled out allergies I would switch to chemical free living. I use chemical free and fragrance free laundry detergent on all their clothes and bedding, towels, etc We use vinegar/water solutions to clean around the house. As well as chemical free hair and body wash and lotion. The brand I use is Arbonne, it's the Baby line. I love it! I still use it on my 5 year old boy. But even my 68 year old step-grandmother uses the lotion because she has sensitive skin. If you're interested in trying it I can send you a sample. Send me a note privately. I love using Aveeno products on my 2yr old but when she was younger she had the same type of skin condition you are talking about. I bought Eucerin cream and it works wonders! It's a little expensive but it really does the trick.

I recommend Shaklee's organic baby products and their nontoxic cleaners. Here is a list of companies that have the Green Seal, certifying that they are safe: Biokleen, Ecover, Shaklee Get Clean, Greening the Cleaning, Mrs. Meyer's, Orange Plus, Seventh Generation, and Sun & Earth. But Shaklee is less expensive because the products are concentrated. Have you tried Aveeno? When my son was small, this helped him immensely. Also, to this day, my son bathes with Ivory soap. Still has sensitive skin at 34 years old.
My children and have the same skin type what has helped is chemical free soaps and laundry detergents like baby California soaps , Dr Bonners, and tide free, seventh generation laundry soap and no fabric softener I also aveeno lotions, as my eldest is 14 we have discovered the marykay velocity line for cleanser. You may also want to check some food sensativites not really an allergy but still bothersome.Good Luck
Sounds weird and funny, but try olive oil. It is GREAT for the skin you can put it in the bath water, put on like lotion, then rinse alittle off, or just put on like lotion and leave it on after the bath or shower. My son and I both have horrible skin and this is the only that works. P.S. I have tried Aveeno, Aquaphor, Avon products, Mary Kay and Arbonne and nothing else works. Make you sure you stay away from fleece materials and baby oil, it makes things MUCH worse. GOOD LUCK:>
Have you mentioned this to your pediatrician to be certain there isn't something going on from an allergy stand point, contact dermatitis, etc? Even our pediatrician admits not being completely comfortable with all the things that can cause skin irritation, so he usually refers us to a Dermatologist to be sure it's nothing too serious.
That being said, our dermatologist recommended 2 products for our kids that are really good hydrators without colors, fragrances, etc.
1. Aquaphor (can get it anywhere)
2. Vanicream - should be able to find it most places but may have to ask them to order it (~$10/tub)
