Check out www.kidwinks.com. There's an Events Calendar where you can click on a day to find out what's going on, or you can search through the Ongoing Activities section for different types of activities (indoor vs. outdoor, museums, etc.). If you become a member of kidwinks, which is free, you can sort the search results in order of distance from your house. There's alos a Kids Eat Free Calendar in the Restaurant section - click on a day to find out where kids eat free or cheaply that day.

Hope this helps,

The other poster had some great suggestions.

How about the Whistle grill in Glen Ellyn for lunch?

Or having your parents take them to Egg Habor in Wheaton for waffles before heading to Cosley, weather permitting?

YaY for you and your husband getting away for a few days! Where do you usually take the kids during the week? That would be a good starting point. My suggestions would also be:

Local Library (they might have some children's programs) or it's just fun to pick out a book and read it there.

DuPage Children's Museum in Naperville - has activities for all ages.

Morton Arboreatum or Brookfield Zoo if weather permits

Yorktown Mall for the little train and play area. Nice get away from home destination.

Enjoy your trip!

On rainy days we take our son (3 yrs old) to run around at the indoor treehouse at Yorktown Shopping Center. And Helen Plum Library has kiddie events through out the day. Check out the park district too since they have morning/afternoon activities for kids.

Have a great trip!
