Hi Moms,
We recently spent a few days staying with my husband's sister (me, husband, and our two kids). I'd like to send her a nice thank you gift... but I am at a loss because all my ideas we have already used. In the past, we've sent Williams Sonoma gift cards, cookies from Famous Amos, gift baskets from "Wine Country". I'd like to do something along those lines...some type of gift basket or something but not sure what else there is. She is single with no kids. She doesn't eat a ton of food. She likes kitchen gadgets but since we've already done Williams Sonoma gift card, I hate to do that again. Anyway - just wondering if any of you have had good luck with sending a nice thank you gift (or maybe received one that you especially liked?). Thanks!!

What can I do next?

So What Happened?

Thanks everyone so much - great ideas! She lives in Tampa, FL, btw. The manicure/ped gift basket in a great idea, Emily G.. though not sure if I am "crafty" enough. These are all great - I'll see how much time I have but I will definitely be using these suggestions (and keeping them in mind for the future too).. thanks everyone!

Monogrammed towels. (even just 2 or 4. Two bath towels, 2 hand towels).

Kitchen basket you put together yourself: funky kitchen gadgets, glove mitts (2), magnets, sign that says cafe or kitchen, cute ceramic painted bowl for fruit etc.

how about something along the lines of a spa thing with a card that says "thought after a week with us you could use some pampering" and a card for a mani pedi or a facial or massage etc.

Why don't you make something? I love giving myself manicures and pedicure and I have started gift baskets for all the women in my family. That will include: moisturizing gloves and booties (found these at the dollar store), small kit that has clippers, cuticle pusher, toe separator ect. (dollar general), hand and foot creams (target Sally Hansen is the best), I'll make a home made salt scrub rub (takes 10 minutes use a pretty bottle everyone will think it took you hours), pumice tool (Kroger has a good 3 in 1 that has a pumice, metal file, and stone foot thingy), use a little foot bath as the basket (something to put in the bath too oil or salts whatever). You know customize it to her likes. I bet something like this will mean so much more than any gift card could. I'm kind of crazy crafty so feel free to contact me if you need any advise or salt scrub recipes. Good luck! No matter what you do she'll love it!

Personally one of our favorite gifts is a restaurant gift card - one that you know is her very favorite.

I would do an Amazon gift card depending on the value of the gift card.

Once I took 3X5 card and cut an oval hole in it, then placed a picture of B. Franklin centered on the oval hole. Then I placed that in a thank you card and wrote that my family and I had so much fun at their house that I wanted them to have a picture of my favorite inventor, statesman and diplomat. The $100 bill was welcome and can be used at places that don't normally accept gift cards.

Good luck to you and yours.
