Summer Care for My 7 Yr Old

This will be the first summer my son is going to be away visiting his dad and I will only need summer care from mid July until school starts. I have searched everything I can think of online and cannot come up with anything. Can anyone suggest a day camp that would be monday thru friday from 8-6pm? He likes sports and different activities to keep him occupied. Most of the things I have come across seem to lean more towards pre-school type programs. Websites would be helpful if you have them. I live in Plano so anything around the area would be great.

Thanks!

Definately the YMCA. They have several different activities to choose from and you two can choose what "theme" he would like to participate in for the week! It is pretty reasonable too.

Most of the gymnastics places in the area have summer camps. We like Eagles Wings in Allen, but I know ASI and most of the others have camps too. Good luck!

Sheisdallas.com has a list of summer camps for kids that age and they are listed by city.

We are doing PSA (Plano Sports Authority). Was just on their site this morning looking at all the camps -the camps run about 215.00 per week but they offer sports camps for different rates and times. We put boys our boys 6 and 7 1/2 there for spring break, they had a blast. Also, Fieldhouse USA in Frisco (might be too far for you) offers great day camps. As does the boys and girls club of collin county (which runs about 85.00 a week). We are also sending the boys to a couple of Vacation Bible Schools at different churches. I found a list on around town kids/Frisco but here is the link for Plano... this site is a good summary of kid activities. http://www.aroundtownkidsplano.com Good Luck! i'm sure you will find something fun for him this summer.

On the Richardson/Plano border there is a new daycare called Kid's are Kid's. They look like they have a great summer camp with lots of activities and you can pick the weeks that you send him. Here's the link to what they will be doing and the cost per week. I've been doing a lot of searching too and this is the most flexible program I found.

Plano Sports Authority (off Preston Meadow) has summer camps. They are from 9a-4p, but there is an extended day option as well. http://www.psaplano.org/testsite/
Click 'Camps' on the right hand side of the screen for the summer camp brochure. What I find that is really nice about this option is that you only pay for the days that your kiddo goes. You can purchase 1, 5, 10 or 20 day passes and use them on any day you need. Good luck!
