So it's coming - my annual Superbowl party. Last year I did a chili dog bar, pulled pork sandwiches and a bunch of apps.

I am looking for something new and exciting. Any suggestions?

Also, I was thinking of doing fajitas. Any ideas how to make them and serve them hot and delicious?

So What Happened?

Robin M. - Hell Yeah!! I am so making those bacon wrapped chicken pieces!! Yum!! Might try ahead this weekend so I don't mess them up!

Love the potato bar idea. I made homemade skins last year - this could be something different!

We are having White Bean Chili w/corn bread and honey butter, mini pork tamales, good salsa, gaucamole and chips (I like Tostitos scoops). We will also have cold shrimp and crab with a nice cocktail sauce. Crackers and cheese....assorted dip, chips and fresh sliced baggets. (Clam, onion, hot cheese dips).

For dessert, banana pudding, Black Forest cake, Hagan Daz vanilla ice cream with w/chocolate or caramel sauce!

Yes, we will also be having assorted adult and other kinds of really great beverages.

There will be room for people who need to sleep over and/or special drivers for anyone who needs one.

GO NINERS!

I went to a scrapbook all day event one time and they had a baked potato bar. It was so yummy, I still think about it. Maybe because I LOVE potatoes, though.

I was thinking you could do that along with chicken wings?

We make this for every party and serve with a Remoulade sauce:

Another thing I like to do are ground beef & chorizo sliders-I make a relish of sauteed onions, sliced jalapenos (the kind in the jar), balsamic vinegar and brown sugar-then stack everything on a little ciabatta roll with cheese and chipotle mayo-which I make, as well. Serve with some oven-fried sweet potatoes. Can I get a hell yea?

I like to do chili for game days. Have a bunch of toppings , crackers, cheese cubes , shredded cheese. Serve with noodles and rice .
Then have dips for chips and then salsas for tortilla chips.
That's about as creative as I get with food lol

Do a fajita bar. Make up chicken and beef and then all of the toppers-salsa, sour cream, cheeses, sauteed peppers and onions, fresh cilantro, black beans. SErve with margaritas and queso/chips.

This is my favorite marinade for beef. I like to use a flatiron steak and grill it after marinating it for an hour or so. You can make the meat up the day before and just keep it warm for the party. Get a couple tortilla keepers for flour/corn tortillas. Veggie- onions and peppers sautéed. Sour cream/salsa/tomatillo salsa. Yum

Fajita bars are fun - I've seen it at a couple grad parties. They pre-sauteed everything and kept warm in chaffing dishes but crock pot would work and then have the other toppings.

Baked potato bars are good - toppings can be salsa, chili, cheese, flavored sour cream, ham, bacon, chives.

I know this is less than helpful for your actual question, but I cannot help myself, so....

Pick lots of PURPLE food because it will match when the RAVENS win!! :)

Sounds fun! I wish I had something new and exciting to offer but I can't think of anything. I would recommend going on food network.com and ask for fajitas recipe. I love that site because all the recipes are reviewed and you can pick one that is 5 stars. Good luck! Have fun!
