Hi Everyone! We are traveling to St.Augustine in late October, and we were wondering what the weather is like. Is it possible to go swimming or should I not even bother packing swim stuff? We were considering staying on the beach, but if its too cold we'd rather just get a hotel in town.

What can I do next?

St. Augustine is such fun. I'd take those swim suits as you will probably be able to swim. The beaches are nice and that's where I'd prefer staying. There's lots to do in town if it is a bit cool. Have a wonderful time.

It is awsome there. I was there last Oct for work. It was warm enough during the day to swim and wear shorts but cool enough not too. No jacket needed at night...comfortable. I loved it.

Awesome destination! You'll have a great time near Halloween in the old town area! Definitely pack your swimwear! The weather should be lovely, and it just depends on what you consider too cold as to how you'll like the ocean. It also depends on how warm/cool, wet/dry and hurricane-filled the early fall is, but even if the ocean is cold, there are many heated pools at condos and hotels there. The beach is a great one for biking as well!

I grew up in Fl. but was never much of an ocean swimmer...I would pack suits just in case though. October on the E. coast is very pleasant.
The beach in St. Augustine is beautiful and perfect for long evening walks.
I'd stay on the beach. :)

we live a few hours across florida from there ....we swim well into October over here. Of course there have been a few exceptions of rare early winters. October probably is the best month to vacation in Florida!

I live about an hour from St. Augustine. You're starting to hit cooler weather a the end of October. Usually averaging in the mid 70's to lower 80's. So, I think it would be a little cool for swimming, but there are some people that think it's perfect. I would pack a few swim things, because better safe than sorry.

I love St. Augustine! You will have so much fun!

October in FL is beautiful, but be prepared for chilly nights that far North. Bring your suits b/c daytime is usually pretty warm.

St. Augustine is one of my favorite places in FL. Have a wonderful time!

Pack your bathing suits.

I remember going to central FL in October and going to an amusement park that also had a water park. The water park was closed because it was too cold??? It was 85 degrees.

Great news. The local's will think your nuts, and you'll have the beach to yourselves.

Note: It will get cool in the evening.
