I need a new car next year and it needs to fit 3 kids on the backseat comfortably.

One 5th grader, one 5 year old's car seat and an infant car seat.

Any recommendations ???

Thanks.

What can I do next?

My chevy impala fit two infant seats and a conv. seat all the in the back seat. I put the infant seats on the outside and the conv. seat in the middle. This allowed my older kid to have more leg room since the legs could be stretched out inbetween the two front seats.

What is your budget Anonymous O. Sheesh, I thought I was bad about wanting to be anonymous...lol?! I know alot of happy people with minivans, but if you're a minivan hater (no offense minivan drivers) there are the big oversized Chevrolets/Denali or Suburbans. I have a MB GL450 and it's huge inside, space is never an issue. They are overpriced and require extra maintenance = budget buster! The Toyota Sequoia's look big and nice too, I love those!

I have an old VW Passat and I've been trying to decide on a new car too. I just have one 7 year old, but often wish I could transport more than one additional child. The car/booster seats take up too much room.

I looked at the Mazda5 - sort of a minivan/station wagon hybrid. It has three rows, which I liked, but I didn't like the two color seats in the leather option (red trim on beige seats). The third row was also cramped, so I think it would only be comfortable for kids/shorter teens.

I love the Odyssey, but can't justify the gas mileage when most of the time it will only be two of us in the car.

My sister loves her Toyota Highlander.

I was looking at the CR-V or RAV4, but saw they're sorter than the sedans I have been looking at, so I've ruled them out.

I was surprised how big the Sonata seemed, but I don't know if you can fit two seats and a fifth grader in the back.

I've been looking at cars for about eight months and still haven't been able to make a final decision. Good luck with your decision!!

Honda Odyssey
Toyota Sienna
Chevy Suburban
Ford Expedition

This will allow you ample storage and movement for all the kids - easy access to get in (especially with the mini van) and no one saying HE'S TOUCHING ME!!!!!

I would NOT recommend the CR-V for an infant seat, a 5th grader and a 5 year old...REALLY TIGHT FIT!!! We have a CR-V and it is a GREAT car but not for 3 kids like you need!!

I have a 2010 Dodge Charger- Absolutely love it! The inside is very roomy. I have 3 kids back there all the time. My youngest in a booster seat, 10 year old and 15 year old. Of course they complain sometimes but there is plenty of room.

I didn't have this car when I had car seats. I have a Honda CRV. The back seat is very roomy. My 6ft daughter and 2 of her friends fit comfortably.

I don't recommend my car (3 series wagon) for three, however, I was in my MIL Prius and WOW! great space! I know, a PRIUS for good ness sake. It had my nephew's car seat, my 8 yo and my 4 yo booster and it was great!
I also have admired my friend's Audi A4 for good back seat space and I am a huge fan of the older style volvo's for good back seat space, but the newer ones (late 90's forward) are touch and go in terms of space based on the model (s40 vs s60, etc).
Of course if you get any minivan/SUV you will get some nice space, but since you said "car" I am taking that literally:)
Good luck!
