Son Spitting Food Out

I have a 10month old son that everytime you give him a bite of food (which all he loves) he spitts it out. I have told him no, which of course he doesn't truly understand. I feel that he is not getting enough food and he is already under weight as well because he has acid reflux. Has anyone had this problem before?

What can I do next?

I feel you need to give your son more credit. He has the ability to understand no. But you have to say it correctly. With a firm voice and a frown on your face. If you say it in a warm friendly tone, he won't understand that the behavior disappoints you. Don't yell, just a firm tone.

Best Wishes,

Do you let him feed himself? My daughter never really liked to eat baby food but will eat a ton if I let her do it herself. I just make sure she have a good color and taste variety. Like peas, peaches, bread and chicken for example.

That's about when our son started spitting out food too. He's 13 months now. He didn't want us to feed him anymore, he wanted to do it himself. Try using finger food that he can pick up and eat. Or if he is interested in the spoon like ours was, try putting mashed potatoes on the spoon and giving him the spoon to feed himself. That worked like a charm for us.
