Seeking Moms, Who Support Spreading Out Vaccinations

As a gramma of a three month old beautiful baby girl i would suggest you call the Glendale adventistmedical center/hospitalthey have good peds. theremy little granddaughter had hers recently and the doctor would accept even to have you sign a paper if you wish for your child not to receive them because of religious beliefs. Which, i strongly oppose to it. the doctor suggest to have firt the one vaccines that were time sensitive, that is your child has to have those at two months and if not never. and suggested to have the rest at our convenience, and of course the vivit would not be covered by the insurance. but who cares for that. our baby girl took the seconf half of the whole two weeks after. Doctor even showed us a government report showind no relation between the vaccinations and autism.

Even though there's no conclusive evidence about the link between vaccines and autism, it's very important to have a Dr. who respects and listens to you and will work with you.

if you do end up going to this doctor, i'd appreciate some reviews from you. I am considering transferring. I love our pediatrician, but he's not very open about an alternative schedule. he'll do as much as he can, but he doesn't necessarily initiate a schedule for me or the subject for that matter.

i had previously posted the same question as you, and got no responses. so don't be surprised if i'm the only person responding to this.

I have a 3 year old, and I didn't put her on an althernative schedule. However, after her 15 months, I just waited a long time to make the appointments with the pediatrician. so instead of her getting her MMR at 15 months, she got it at 18 etc. I'm just very grateful that she's a healthy child today.

But now with my son, who just turned one, I am really concerned and just need a doctor that would be more supportive of the idea (which is common sense in my mind) to not bombard our children with 5, sometimes up to 9 different vaccinations in ONE VISIT. I think that's just common sense!

I hope more doctors would understand parents like us that are NOT AGAINST vaccinations, just slow it down a bit...don't need to overdose a tiny body with so much in such a short time.

Also, on a side note: autism don't necessarily CAUSE autism. This statement can trigger many angry opponents of alternative vaccination. And it doesn't help our cause to get support from the medical community on this subject.

The general consensus in the autism community is that: if there are children who are born with a predisposition to autism, an aggressive schedule can trigger that autism. And there's also the argument that not every child's body is made the same (hello? common sense)..some may have a stronger immune system than others..Hence, a child with a weaker immune system may not be able to handle that many vaccinations in one sitting.

Other than that, vaccination is completely safe.

I commend you for thinking out of the box and doing what's best for you child. We, too, don't support the current vaccination schedule and in fact, have gone so far as to not vaccinate our 2 girls, age 3.5 and 2, at all, until they are older. Our pediatrician is Dr.Paul Fleiss in Los Feliz, near the Hollywood area. They totaly respect the parents' wishes. His number is ###-###-####.
