Seeking Homeschooling Group in Denton/Argyle/Corinth

Welcome! I don't know of any groups in the Denton area, but would be surprised if you don't find one. If you end up a little closer in Frisco HIS is a very large, terrific homeschooling group. You may wish to try the Yahoo group HSM2HSM - Home school mom 2 home school mom. The women there are extremely knowlegdgable and you may make a friend or two before you even move here!

As to the testing; what do you want her tested for? If you simply want to see where she stands acedemically you can download the TAKS/TEKS test or have her take it online. Some people prefer the Iowa standardized tests. Please realize that Texas is the friendliest homeschool state, you do not have to have your daughter do any state testing at all! Her education is entirely in your hands, the state will not interfer. Relax and enjoy the freedom of homeschooling in Texas! Best of luck!

Denton has a huge very active Homeschool Assocaition they have a web site. Goggle Denton Homeschool Association and you should go right to it. They have enrichment classes, field trips, sports, proms, etc.

We have a large active homeschooling group in the area. It is a yahoo group that has messages boards and an events calendar etc. with monthly moms night outs etc. Just send me your email address and I will send the invite to you. :) Welcome to Denton.

There is a huge group called the Denton County Homeschool Association. I think it is $25 a year to join. It gives you access to a forum that posts information for homeschoolers about activities for the kids like our science fair, history fair, basketball, volleyball, soccor, casa manana, game days, park days, ice skating, valentines party, people sale curriculum on there, etc. It is a wealth of information. There are also at least 4 other smaller groups that have great information and meetings.
