I am currently looking for a High Quality Preschool program for my now 3 and 1/2 year old - to start in Fall 2008? Looking for a challenging well rounded curriculum that will keep my child interested in learning with educated, compassionate teachers that encourage parent communication and involvement. A nuturing environment, that keeps learning fun to make his introduction to a school setting possitive. Additionally, the teacher: student ratio should be low, and exposure to computers, music, and art are all important in our search. However, we are new - first-timers to this process and need some advice with the locating and interviewing a new school. Thank you.

Stacy, that must be so hard for you to be away from your family. However, if you child is having problems and needs services, you are in a much better place that IL, believe me.

First, contact Easter Seals in your area and ask if they have early childhood intervention or something like it. They will evaluate your child and see if you are eligible for services. I think that you might be able to do this through your local government offices.

Also, contact the local PUBLIC preschool, if you get no success from the village/town administration. They should have information for you or be able to point you in the right direction.

It'll be ok--you're in a very good place, believe it or not.

My sister lives in that area and takes her son to their church preschool. I believe it is called White River. You should try that!

S.,

I sent my child to the Free Evangelical Church on Roosevelt Rd. in Wheaton for Pre School. It's called SunShine PreSchool. Now, that was years ago, but I had amazing results with the plan and the teachers. I'm sure you could go and visit for a period of time (I'm not sure). Call and find out. The church number is###-###-####. The address is 520 E. Roosevelt Rd. I hope this help

S., the very best preschool in the area was associated with National Luis University. They are located right off of Sheridan Rd near Isabella. The university recently moved and the school stayed in the same location. I am sure they can get the phone number thru them: ###-###-####. I just don't remember the name the nursery school is going under now.

Both my children attended this school thru 5th grade and it is excellent. Their preschool starts at 3 years old. They also have a 4 year old group and a kindergarten.

I receive both my Master's Degrees from the university and am very familiar with their philosophy and teaching. You cannot go wrong with this choice.
