So, my son is moving on to Kindergarten this Fall. I have had both my daughter and son attend the same preschool since 2007. I am needing some good gift ideas. She does the preschool out of her home and has done so for the past 12 yrs. I am going to miss her being in my kid's lives so much. However, life must go on right? Thanks for your help...
Have the kids make pictures, even the older ones, to put in a book and write thank you letters to her. Make them into a scrap book page with a picture of the kid in her class...maybe even with her...and the child now, including the son leaving. :) Then add in the gift card! :)

GIFT CARD!! And then add a personal note or picture from your son thanking her. I did an in-home childcare for 2 years and I loved getting gift cards! Starbucks, Target, etc. The nicest thing to me though, was getting a thank you card from the parents. Childcare can be such a thankless job and so knowing that they cared was sooooo important! I still like to read the cards that I've gotten. It makes people feel good when they know they're appreciated. :)

For my daughter's preschool teacher, I had my daughter make a thank you card. I wrote out the words on a seperate piece of paper, and my daughter copied it onto her paper. It was so cute because it was so imperfect. Then my daughter drew a picture of her & Miss Tammy below the words. Then, we went to Utah-Idaho Supply (school supply store) and bought her a gift certificate. When Miss Tammy opened it, she was very excited about the gift certificate because she gets most all of her supplies from there, and she was even more excited about the hand written note & drawing from my daughter. Good luck and make sure your kids are involved in making/picking out whatever thank you card is given.

If a group of kids are "graduating" let me tell you what I organized for the kids I was a Nanny for preschool teacher.
At the end of the year, I colllected about $10 from each parent, then took the money and bought a gift certificate to our local mall. The certificate ended up being $120-150!
The teacher LOVED it!! Many tears from all of us. = )
I thought of this, because I was a preschool teacher myself for many years, and while we love gifts from our kids, we often get so many, we cannot keep them.
With the gift certificate the teacher could have a meal with her family or by something fun for her, and think of us.
