I was not happy in my same quest 5 years ago-until i found Chesterbrook. I am in DG, but took her to the one in Lisle on Ogden (just past 355). My now 17 month old will definately go there!

We just moved to Downers Grove this Summer and I have my 4 yr old son at Small Miracles Preschool in Woodridge. It's off 75th. I have my Masters Degree in Early Childhood Development and taught Preschool myself so I happen to be pretty biased as to what I was looking for in a school. My son loves it there and I do as well.

Pathways Montessori on Maple Ave. in Downers Grove ###-###-#### is the one I would recommend. Ages 3-6 yrs old.
It is worth every penny. Stop by and observe it while you are looking around.

I'm not sure how you feel about a religious-affiliated preschool, but my son goes to Immanuel Lutheran Preschool and loves it. The teachers are really nurturing but still instructive.

I don't know if you are looking for a center or a home. However, if you would consider home care, there are some really great people in my daycare orginization that might interest you. We have about 100 providers. THere are several in the area (Woodridge, Downers, and Westmont) that specialize in just preschool. If you are interested you can check our our website. Our organization is called United Child Care Network. Our Presidents contact information is listed if you wanted to speak so someone directly. I'm in the Aurora area, so I won't be able to help directly. Good Luck!

D.,

I live in DOwners Grove, I have three kids 8,6 1/2 and 2 1/2. The older ones are boys and the younger one is a girl. I sent my boys to the Downers Grove Park District Preschool, I really liked it. I wil be sending my little girl there next year. Check it out.

I have also heard that Peter Pan is good too. I think its in a church on Hobson. I want to say its the Hobson church. Not really sure about that though.

I jsut know that I liked the park district.

Hope that helps and good luck. If you want to email me for more information you can ____@____.com

My daughter attends Peter Pan in Westmont. It is located at 65 and Cass. I am not sure if there is one in Downers Grove or not. I really like it there. My daughter is only 2 so she is a bit younger but she came home saying the Pledge of Allegiance the other day. Serously! I was amazed. We just switched there from Chesterbrook Academy (which I personally did not like) and Peter Pan has been amazing. She just turned two at the end of August and I amazed at what she comes home with. I have had conversations with her about family, apples, trees, leaves and why they fall, firefighters and now the Pledge of Allegiance. I am pretty happy there. If you have questions, please feel free to email me. Good luck.

My son goes to the Indian Boundary YMCA preschool. It is a preschool only, not full day care. This is his second year there and he (and we) has been very happy there.
