Please! Need Boy Name Suggestions Based on Grandfathers Name.

Would like to honor my grandfather by using part of his name for our new baby boy. Would like some ideas for combinations I haven't thought of. His name is Charles Brent, everyone calls him Brent. Our last name starts with "D" and is two syllable. What do you guys think? We have a daughter named Natalie.

What can I do next?

Do you need to alter this combination? I think Charles Brent is a wonderful name! You can decide if you want to call him Brent or Charlie.

Or you could name him Brenton Charles if you want to make his name a little different from his Great-grandpa's.

Before I even clicked in to respond I thought Brenton :) It seems to be a popular pick here. I saw someone else suggest Chase and I love that name, too. Maybe Chase Brenton. I like a one/three syllable first name with a two syllable last name. Best wishes for a healthy, happily named little boy!

I think both Charles and Brent are perfect names. It would be great if you picked one of those and then maybe for a middle name use your husband's grandfather's name. This way, both sides of the family are honored and everybody is happy!

I like Brendon. It would honor your Grandfather, while giving your son his own identity.

You could even go real unique and name him 'Les'

Hilarious. Based on all of your responses, I am thinking you are should really consider the name Brent or some form of it. :) It's not often that "everyone" likes your name choice. I say run with it. LOL.

When I first read your post, the name Christian came to mind. Something about the Ch from Charles and the nt from Brent. In looking up both names, I see that Chase could be a modern variation on Charles and Bennett could always be used instead of Brent.

Good luck and let us know what you decide to name your baby. :)

I like Brenton. I like changing names a bit for the next generation, for example, my husband is Clinton and so we named our son Colton...

As for a Middle name, maybe use the same as your husband and honor him in the same way.

unless of course your last name is Denton, then I would probably stear clear of Brenton. :)

Arlo Brenton D- -

Arlo is a variation of Charles. I love the name Natalie BTW. And, I think Arlo and Natalie work nicely together.

I love the name Charles, but be prepared for Chuck, which I would dislike.

If you go Charlie Brenton, that would be super cute and would carry him well in adulthood also. or,

Brenton _____(middle name of husband's choosing) D______(last name) or,

Brenton Charles

You could use Brenton (with a T), and call him Brent for short Or Brendon Charles and let him decide what he wants to be called.

I like Natalie and Brent. Natalie and Charlie are cute but too close together if you know what I mean.

(PS. Dont forget to put all the initials together first... just to make sure it does not spell something weird... My cousin's name is Mathew Nathan McCormack and he signs MNM... so ... hmm.. I guess it could be worse! LOL)

Natalie and Charlie would be cute. Or you could name him whatever you want and honor grandpa with the middle name.

My number one choice is Brent as a first name, I like that.
But, I also like Charlie or Charley as a nickname, so Charles as a first name would be just as cute.
Have you asked you Grandfather what he thinks?

I love the name Charles. It's one of our family names.
Charles Brent sounds like a great way to honor your grandfather. Or use Charles and you dad's first name as a middle name.

Natalie and Charlie has a good ring to it.

You can spell it so many different ways. Brenten, Brentin, Brentain, etc.
