I was wondering if yall could recommend a pediatrician in Lafayette. We just moved here a few days ago and I am not sure how long waiting list are here. We came from Midland where we have to make Well Baby visits 3 months in advanced. Also what dentist should I take him to. Hayden is 10 months old. Any help we be great.
hi N.- I am on my 3 pediatrician and we love him to death- his name is dr lewis cummings and he is located in the oil center area. However, some peolple do not care for him because he is old and old fashion- he is not quick to give a lot of meds right away-but WE LOVE HIM and then for a dentist we see Dr troy miller- he is very very good with little ones

This will be short and sweet......Dr. Douglas Gonzales, who's a partner in Pediatric Associates of Lafayette (PAL) (near Laf. Gen'l), is fantastic. We moved here nine years ago from a larger city, we knew no one, and, at the time, had a one year old. Dr. Gonzalez is wonderful for both the children AND the parents. He is so easy to talk and listen to. I have never felt "lectured" by him, and the kids are VERY comfortable and relaxed with him. Regarding a pediatric dentist, Drs. Hendry, Jacobs and Yale (near Fresh Pickins which is on Kaliste Saloom). Although, fortunately, we only have to go for checkups, our kids have no qualms about going to the dentist. The facilities are professional and pleasant but it's the dentists' personalities that both myself and my children just adore.

Welcome to Lafayette! I hope you feel like your home here. I was born and raised in Acadiana and although I have traveled extensively this will always be my home. I am a 41 year old mother of 3 children. I highly recommend Dr. Lewis Cummings in the Oil Center in Lafayette. My 2 youngest children became patients of Dr. Cummings at birth. The pediatrician of my oldest child retired by the time my younger children were born. My search for a pediatrician while I was pregnant was quite a journey. Once I found Dr. Cummings I did not look any further. He is a wonderful, compassionate man and takes each patient on a personable basis. As for local childrens dentists .... I have tried Dr. Keaty & Dr. Gonsulin and have not recommended either of them to anyone. Maybe you should try some of the others that are recommended below. Good Luck!!!
Dr. Michael Judice is my 5 wk old son's pediatrician and he is wonderful. He is at Women's and Children's Hospital.
Not sure about the waiting list, but its worth a try.

I would recommend ANY of the pediatricians at Pediatric Association of Lafayette and the BEST area kids' dentist is Dr. William Keaty. It's a GREAT experience for kids. Hope this helps!

I'm a mother of 3 girls aged 13, & twins-11. We go to Dr. Lewis Cummings in the Oil Center near Lafayette General Medical Center, 435 Heymann Blvd., ###-###-####. His nurse, Jeanne is very understanding and kind. I've gone there since the girls were about 6. I had another ped., who just didn't cut it. Dr. Cummings is very, very gentle, very informative and non-rushed. He takes his time and explains things so you can understand. You won't be sorry. Good Luck and Welcome to Lafayette!!!! M.
My little girl's pediatrician is with the Pediatric Group of Acadiana. Dr. Hebert, Dr. Melancon, Dr. Gonzales, and Dr. Lim. They are all very good and knowledgeable. Also, Dr. Bailey is very good and down to earth. He is with the Lafayette clinic off of Ambassador Caffery. I also work with these doctors and have never been proven wrong.
As far as a pediatric dentist, my little one, 20 months, sees Dr. Keaty. His staff is very patient and understanding. my little girl may not enjoy the visits, but she will take as many stickers as they give her when we are done. They also have Dr. Troy Miller, but I am not sure about his practice. I am sure they have other Pediatric dentists too, but I am not familiar with them.

Welcome to Lafayette! The peditrician that I recommend is Dr. Bryan Sibley, he is located in the Doctor's complex by Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital, 501 W. St. Mary Blvd, Lafayette, LA, 70506,###-###-####. He was the peditrician for all of my children, and now for my grandson. I completely put my trust in his care for kids. Wish you all the best.

Lafayette is full of pediatricians. My children both see Dr Carlos Bruno he is located in Broussard, which is just outside of lafayette. I don't believe that there is much of a wait list. Dr. Bruno is very caring and always stops when we see him in town to talk and see how is school and day to day life. He cares about the family not just about the patient.
