I've been seeing my pediatrician for 5 years now and have questioned her ability numerous times over the years. This I feel is the last straw. My 6 month old baby has been sick for over 5 weeks and every time I bring him in, I get a smug answer and a brush-off. I've taken him in 3 times for this ongoing cough he has. Well, it just gets worse so I took him to walk-in this morning and he finally got the care he needed. He got a chest X-ray which revealed bacterial pneumonia in the right lung and a viral infection between the lungs and in the paracaridal sac. His esopogus is also inflamed and he has an ear infection. I really need advice/ your opinion both good and bad on doctors in Kenosha. I would like to- no I NEED TO switch my children soon.

What can I do next?

I take my daughter to Dr Schimming (or Dr Mike, as we call him). He is with Wheaton Franciscan Medical Group. He is actually in Racine, but is on the far south side of Racine, so depending on where you are located it might not be too far from you. We have been very happy with him, and heard nothing but good things from people when we were looking into pediatrician. Good luck with your search - you definitely need to find someone new.

I had the same problem... my daughter had been sick with a constant cough and congestion since she was 11 weeks old (after I started taking her to daycare). I would bring this up to Dr. Leslie at Kenosha Hospital (Lakeside Pediatrics) at every check-up and he just always brushed it off too. One day I called him up and brought her in because she was coughing soo hard that she would throw up and this kept her up all night long. He said she probably had asthma and just prescribed me an inhaler which my daughter hated and it didn't work anyway. He never even brought up the idea of a chest x-ray! I just felt I couldn't talk to him because either he brushed everything off saying that she'd grow out of it or he'd rush me. My daughter is 13mo now and still constantly has this congestion (not so bad now) but I have a new doctor in Racine that I am going to start taking her to starting tomorrow and I hope I have better luck with him! So to answer your question- Dr. Leslie is not one to see!

I don't know who you are seeing now, but Dr. Sherri Rocco out of Aurora is by far the best. We love her but can no longer go there because our insurance isn;t accepted there anymore
