Pediatric Cardiologist

Does anyone have a recommendation for a pediatric cardiologist in the Roseville/Sacramento area? My son's pulmonologist, endocrinologist, and pediatrician are all recommending different people. I would really like to get a recommendation from other moms. A little bit of background: my son is 20 months old and has had been seeing an endocrinologist since February for his "failure to thrive" (18 pounds at 14 months) and a pulmonologist for his severe asthma and allergies. His pulmonologist just discovered a heart murmur and thinks that a heart issue might be able to explain some of his other "problems".

What can I do next?

So What Happened?

Thank you so very much for your responses ladies. We actually have an appointment on September 2 with Dr. Juris and the pulmonologist is sending over my son's information to UC Davis so we can see Dr. Parish. We had 2 recommendations for each of them (a specialist and parent for each) so we decided to go with Juris (since we could get in quickly) while we wait to be scheduled with Parish. I'm so relieved to hear that you all have had good experiences with each of them. I will give an update on how our appointments go. Thanks again!

Andrea, that was very thoughtful of you to pass on that link. I am on my way to check out that group. Thanks.

Christi, Dr. Van Gundy was the third ped. cardiologist recommended! How great to know all three of them have a good reputation among other moms. Thanks for your response!

My son's pediatric cardiologist is Dr. Parrish at UC Davis Medical Center. He is great and his office number is ###-###-####. Also if you are interested, I am part of a support group called Hearts of Hope (http://sacramentoheartsupportgroup.blogspot.com) and we have members who could tell you more about any pediatric cardiologist you choose.
Best of luck in your doctor search!

Hi there. We have a daughter, who is turning 3 this next week. Right after she was born they discovered that she had a small heart murmur. Our pediatrician said that he would keep an eye on it at each check-up. When she turned 2, he decided that we should get her checked by a cardiologist. He recommended Dr. Jeff VanGundy. He was really good with our daughter and so were his staff. They were gentle and seemed to understand that they were dealing with children. I hope this helps!

Both of my daughters saw cardiologists with Children's Specialists Medical Group of Sacramento. One saw Dr. Manohar and the other saw Dr Juris. They were first seen in the NICU at Sutter Memorial and we continued with Dr Juris for a year. We absolutely loved working with Dr Juris and Dr Manohar in monitoring their heart issues. I highly recommend them.

We went to Dr. Andrew Juris and thought he was great. He is part of the Sacramento Pedatric Specialist Group on J street in Sacramento. Good luck to you.
