Hello. Thanks for all your suggestions in advance. My daughter will be 3 at the end of October and my mom has taken care of her during the week since she was 2 mo. old (my husband and I both work outside the home). We are looking for a preschool or mommy's day-out to take my daughter to 2 mornings/wk. Do you have any recommendations? A friend recommended Handprints Early Ed Center in Highlands Ranch, but it would be a bit of a commute before work and during the lunch hour in that we all live/work on the edge of Parker and Lone Tree. She is very independent and an extrovert. We have taken her to a few classes at the Parker rec center to have social opportunities, but want to introduce her to something a bit more formal.

Also, any feedback on the preschool program through Douglas County schools? We are planning on enrolling her for the next fall.

What can I do next?

My son goes to Sunshine Preschool on Plaza in Parker and he started off doing the Tues/Thurs morning preschool from 8:45 to 11:15 and that worked out well for him. Not sure if they are filled up as school starts next month already but it might be worth checking into. They also do M/W/F at the same time if you want an extra day. Their # is ###-###-####

I would consider preschool at Renaissance Montessori. I cannot speak of SEC but have heard negative comments regarding Sunshine from educators and parents alike and have made the decision not to enroll my children there.

As far as the DougCo preschools, I would ask around in your area for advice. I know it's a lottery where you list your top three preferred choices for placement and there is no guarantee you will your first choice or "home" school. FWIW-my older children went through DougCo and I was pleased with the instruction they received.

I would also consider Skyview Academy---new school with PreK-8 as it is on that side of town in Highlands Ranch near Quebec and C470. Visit skyviewacademy.org.

Best wishes.

Our boys go to The Goddard School in Parker and we love it! Stop in and check it out. We have a 4 year old and a 1 year old, and it's amazing how much they do with the kids! Also you need to begin registration for DCSD preschool in March. Check the district website for more info.

I don' t know of a place for her to go right now, but I have 1 (next year 2) going to preschool at Southeast Christian Church and School. We really like it! We looked into preschool at the Douglas County Schools (particularlly Mammoth Heights), since we had a kindergartner there, but the schedule didn't work out the way we needed. I would really suggest SECC for preschool!
