OH MY WORD!! Doesn't "No Turn on Red" Mean Anything?

Today - I'm driving out to my husband's office to pick up his boxes of stuff...as it's his last day - he and the team he's on got furloughed...he takes the bus and metro to work....

Any way - I'm at, what I would consider, a blind intersection - you can't see too far to your left....I see plenty of cars that feel that "no turn on red" means - well, I'm important and I can't see anyone so, i'll go....well, this (insert nasty word) comes up behind me - pulls out IN FRONT OF ME!! (NOT A POLICE OR ANY EMERGENCY VEHICLE!!!) then then BLOWS through the light...a car driving about 40 mph comes up and over the hill - skids on his breaks and hits the curb to avoid this pin head....and the pin head??!?!? HE HONKS AND FLIPS the OTHER CAR OFF!!!!!

Yes, I got his plate number and yes, I called the police...so my question is - why would someone do this?!

What can I do next?

I have found that most people when they get behind the wheel of a car that their brain leaks out their a$$. People these days don't respect the rules of driving much like they don't respect much of anything else. I love it when people pull out in front of me and act like it's my fault that I almost rear ended them. People run red lights, stop signs as if they are not even there, don't pay attention when changing lanes ect. I try to really pay attention. My favorite was was I was sitting at a red light and the car in front of me almost sat through the next green light, I gave a friendly little honk and was thanked with the one finger salute. This car then got in to the other lane so that he could be next to me and continued to yell at me. Really!?! He even whent so far as to accuse me of honking at him because his car was not as "fancy pantsy" ( his words) as mine. Geez! I think this behavior goes right along with all the rest of the thiings that are happening to society today, no one is held accountable for their actions and they feel that they are entitled to everything and that they can act in such a manner because they feel that they are above consequenses.

People are nuts. We have a light where the left lane is straight or right turn... I'm always like the ONLY person going straight, so I have a line of cars behind me honking. TOUGH SH!T!! Wait for the green light, big deal...

I wish SO BADLY I had one of those marquee things on top of my car so I could make personalized messages to the person behind me: 'I can't go! The lights red you idiot!'... 'I can't go any faster than the person in front of me, stop riding my @ss!'... that would be great :)

Because they are in a hurry to go no where. I have seen ppl do this and then turn into McDonalds. Oh I love it when ppl pull out in front of me and then yell at me or flip me off. It is truely unbelievable that ppl think that THEY have the right away.
That made me remember when I was a teen. I had a bright yellow mustang. Ppl would constantly pull out in front of me. I mean come on I am bright yellow, you couldn't see me??? Now a days you have to have eyes everywhere. I bet if they made everyone retake their driving test again better then 75% would fail. It's amazing the way ppl drive today. Always in a hurry. And the road rage is out of control. It was just in our local paper about 2 men that pulled over and got into an arguement and one backed up and ran over the other. The sad part is one was in his 70's and the other was in his 80's. What had this world come too?

To quote: because he is a 'pin head' and might I add I also get mad at these people who start honking while you are waiting to turn because they have these stupid things all over the place now and both my sons already got tickets responding to the 'pin heads' behind them. I just sit there and wait now.Tough. They can wait. Unless they are a 'pin head' and do something stupid like that.

I hate those people. One time on my way to work, I was behind a lawn service vehicle with lots of mowers and stuff on the back, and we were on a hill, so I didnt want to be directly behind them, so I was a respectful distance behind, not too far, but enough that if they rolled back a little after they started, they wouldnt hit me. And I got honked at!! I was so mad.

And another time I got stuck at a light that I knew would cause me to be there through 2 - 3 slow lights, so I called my Grandma real quick to give her an address she wanted. I figured, I'm at a light, I'll be ok. The dude to my right and one car behind started screaming obscenities at me about how I was an f*ing c*nt and needed to hang my phone up! We were at a light! I mean, how was I hurting anyone? I wasn't going anywhere for at least 5 - 7 minutes, if not more, so I dont see how it was hurting anyone.

Unfortunately my son's kindergarten teacher ran a red light the other day and ran into the side of one our local commissioner's wives. SO sad. The wife is still at PG Shock Trauma with life threatening injuries. The teacher is the nicest, most caring and sensitive person in the world. Accidents happen. However, I was in DC today for work and didn't turn right on any red lights because I didn't know if I could or couldn't. I was honked at all day but I sipped my water and turned my radio up :).

I missed this one.
It is because we live outside of DC and VA driver's are rude. .
We have had to learn to be more forthright and aggressive on these roads and I live miles south of you. Give me NC any day. My daughter is still afraid to drive 95 or Rt 3 in Fredericksburg. I refuse to drive anywhere north of Potomac Mills and I have to do it this weekend, yikes.
Oh and the non emergency number for police is plugged into my phone for these pinheads.
