I was wondering if anyone else has or had a problem with their newborn and gas. I formla feed (using similac advanced with iron) and it seems like Madison has horrible gas, to the point where she gets so red in the face and i can tell she is uncomfortable, she pulls her legs up and clenches her fist so tight. I just started giving her mylicon but not sure if it's really doing the job, today is the 3rd day of her taking it and she is still turning red in the face and fussing. Any suggestions?
I had the same exact problem. I switched my baby to Enfamil Gentlease Lipil Formula... the problem ended after one day of switching. It's much more expensive but you don't want your baby in pain and the gas drops do not work. Some babies have immature digestive systems and need a formula that is sensitive to that. I would switch immediately if I were you.

hi K., both of my sons had horrible gas too. my first was on similac advanced and so is my second who is on it now. my trick is to put one small gas drop in each bottle. it is safe and i swear by it. i put one drop in right before i am ready to feed my son. it seemed to help alot because the similac does seem so bubbly, but i would check about changing formulas first with your pediatrician. but i hope this helps and you don't need to! good luck!
My son was the KING of gas and constipation. Switch the formula. Try a soy based version they have lactose fee or go with a lower iron based formula. I was on similac advanced and it really did a number on my child.
It's really gas pain. Try some home remedy like babies magic tea.
