I am new to the area, I live in Ashley, PA, just outside of Wilkes-Barre, I am looking for a good Pediatrician for my 18 month old daughter. Anyone close by that can give me some names of some good ones? If you have a good General Practicioner that you can recommend as well that would be neat too, you know just in case I get sick too? :) Thanks everyone.

What can I do next?

Hi J.,

I live in West Pittston and I have been taking my children to Dr Rubina Zaman at 250 Pierce street..Kingston. My youngest daughter who has been seeing this Dr. for about 6yrs has a rare conditin called Panhypopituitarism and Dr Zaman has been great in helping us deal with this condition. She is a really good doctor and pretty nice too.. if you have any questions please feel free to email me at ____@____.com

Hi J.,

Unforturnately, I don't know anything about Ashley, but I live in Old Forge (on the border of Lackawanna and Luzerne counties). I noticed that you used to live in Bucks county. My husband and I moved here from Langhorne about a year ago, we lived there for a year and a half. Its a completely different culture here as opposed to there.

The leading Pediatrician in the area is in Clarks Summit, Dr. Anders Nelson, off of exit 194 of I-81. He's been published in USA Today. Its probably about a 30 min ride from Wilkes-Barre.

Anyway, the Barnes and Noble in Wilkes-Barre sometimes has storytimes that you should check out. I take my kids to the storytimes at the library and to Gymboree. That's about all there is to do around here. Best of luck and welcome to the area.

Hi J., There is a very good practice in Kingston which is about 10-15 minute drive for you. It is called kingston Pediatrics. I see Dr. Rogers but I believe they are all very good. http://www.kingstonpeds.com/ Check out their website.
As for a family practitioner, I'm sure you can find one close to you but no real recommendations. I see a Dr. Joseph Litchman in Plains which is about a 20 minute ride for you.
Good Luck and welcome to the area!

Hi J.
I live in White Haven PA not too far from you. I was new to this area two yrs ago after moving here from Monmouth County NJ( BIG change) I can recommend a fantastic pediatrician in Kingston(other side of WB) Her name is Rubina Zaman and her practice is on Pierce Street. My background is in nursing so I'm very particular about these things. She and her staff are great. I have a 5yr old boy and a 11 month old daughter. Good Luck
Katie
