Any ideas...i cant think of a single thing, except movie tickets or bookstore giftcard but i didnt know if suggesting a gift card is lame
a polyanna is where everyon draws a name out of a "hat" and you get a gift for that person, with this poynanna you have to include 2 suggestions under your name

What can I do next?

I have never heard it call a polyanna before.

Can it be any gift? Or are you talking about clean gifts only? Like, no dirty joke books?

CDs are always nice to get. So are DVDs. Or one of those pastry makers from Kohls, to make things like donuts, whoopie pies, or cake balls.

My job does this every year. I have no shame in asking for gift cards. As a matter of fact most of us request gift cards. There are very few that request an actual gift.

My favorite gift request for this is movie gift card. It is great to be able to go to the movies with the family for half price or free if it is J. hubby and M.. This means I can take my hubby out on a date. You could also request some kind of special promotion item on www.living social.com This way you are actually getting a discounted thing worth more than the actual $25.00.

You may also consider a American Express gift card. It's as good as cash and I love that.

Here are some of the actual gifts I have given or received over the last few years:
Leather gloves, jewelry, family board games (What's yours Like? or Say Anything), CD's, DVD's (older ones that are reduced in price), magazine subscription (love this one because it keeps giving long after the holiday).

I hope these suggestions help.

Well, I don't know what you're into. For M. I always put Starbucks coffee (actual bags of whole bean coffee), or SB gift card, anything from Bath & Body Works, anything from Burts Bees, or Yankee Candle Company. You know, easy stuff like that to make it easier both for the person who's buying for you & easy for you to exchange if they got you stuff you don't love. ;)

First suggestion is to keep an idea list (I have recently started using Amazon's wish list since you can put anything on it from any website) all year long... I can never come up with ideas when I'm put on the spot, but there are so many times that I think I want something but don't want to buy it for myself...

As for gift ideas, think about what you enjoy, for example...
Baking - a special pan or decorating tool
Reading - paperbacks by your favorite other to stash in you car
Entertaining - there are some fun mini plates, bowls, utensils out right now
Sports - earrings or trinkets for your favorite team
Hubby always has high end coffee and music items on his list. In my case, I can always put Steelers stuff, wine, puzzles on my list (I even put Pilates DVDs on before, but they're still in the wrappers, so I guess I've learned from that experience ;)

Never heard of it!

I can never think of things I'd like to receive until I'm doing my day to day stuff. Try to make a running list.

Think of spring and summer. Are there things you'd like to have then?

I'm asking for a bird feeder, a wind chime, and some house plants (we moved in August and I miss them!).

I would be ble to come up with all sorts of gift card places!

Movie theater
bookstore
local plant nursery (think flowers for spring, bird feeders as someone else said)
Splurgy type shoe store/purse store (I love bags!)
Cooking stuff store

Unless you know of specific books or CD's you could list? I always put my SPECIFIC Smartwool socks if asked for a list. I mean even my decent Acorn slippers are more than that price range...gift cards help you get those items you might not otherwise get yourself for a price YOU might actually go buy them for!

Or J. list some random things (like a birdfeeder, hummingbird feeder, fleece slippers, gloves, etc...maybe they will get fun and creative?

I will assume that gift reciepts will be with everything? Sounds fun to M.!
