I just had my first little girl, Teagan Piper, and am in need of a caring pediatrician who will be open minded to delayed vaccines. Any help is appreciated!!

I use Dr. Chimene Fikkert - she's with a group of physicians that practices in the USMD building at Matlock & I-20. As far as I know, she is fine with delaying vaccines, and she is a WONDERFUL doctor. I just love her, and so do both my kids! I found out about her because I kept hearing her name come up from other moms all over the place. We've also seen most of the other pediatricians in her group, and we have loved them all too! www.mcnt.com

My husband is a pediatric Chiro that works specifically with unvaccinated or vaccine injured. Very knowledgable on the subject and has actually written a book about vaccines. He is in Mansfield, Dr. Todd Elsner, ###-###-####.

I have 2 children and live in Arlington. We have had 2 pediatricians and neither truly supported delaying vaccines. However, they put up with it because I just told them I will not be following the vaccine schedule. My child will only get 1 vaccine at a time. They cautioned me that I would be in their office all the time if I did that I would have to pay a co-pay every time, and I said I was fine with that. At first, I was there all the time- about every 2 weeks during some months- but it was worth it. I think I allowed them to get a mixed shot once each, but other than that we got only 1 shot at a time. I asked the Dr. to recommend which shot to start with and what the progression would be and they did. One of them got frustrated with me and tried to talk me out of it everytime for a while, but I didn't change. You have to be the advocate for your child and they can't force you to give them more vaccines. So,I guess I'm saying who ever you decide on, just tell them what you want to do and stick to it whether they agree or not!

We use Dr. Sharon Dennis in Arlington. She is very open minded about vaccinations. We delayed my sons vaccinations and are choosing not to do some vaccines. She has been great about everything. She is very honest with you and lets you do what you would like. She is located on Matlock just south of Arkansas in the Arlington Family Practice. Good Luck
