Does anyone see a pediatrician they love that will not vaccinate or delay vaccines or eliminate certain vaccines at the parents request.

We go to Dr. Karen Halsell at Pediatricians of Dallas by Presby Dallas. She is pro-vaccinations, but is willing to work with parents on an alternate or delayed schedule.

M.,

I know this would be a long way to go (but much shorter now with the extension that connects the Bush to 161), but my pediatrician and family doctor both are very respectful of immunization concerns. My pediatrician is Dr. Michelle Fowers and my family doctor is Dr. Tricia Smith. Neither uses multi-dose vaccines and they only keep true mercury-free vaccines on hand (not the so-called mercury free that actually have trace amounts - seen to be negligible by some).

Anyway, they are both in Irving, in the MacArthur/I635 area. I used to live by there and I work in Frisco, and it is a 25 minute drive on the tollways during light traffic.

Please contact me if you would like their information. I had planned to only see Dr. Smith for my daughter, but she referred me to Dr. Fowers when my daughter was having difficulties with formula (I was unable to breastfeed). Dr. Fowers is more "pro vaccines" than Dr. Smith and will talk with you at length about it but in the end will do the schedule that you want (which would include delaying indefinitely). She just wants to make sure you are sure. I did not find it overbearing in the least or that she was trying to sway me, just trying to understand. I really like her style of communication and her easy of nature.

Good luck in your search. I know this is a sensitive subject to some (and I've seen the previous posts) and I wish you well.

P.

We use Amber Jones, P.A. at Raintree Pediatrics in Allen. Dr. Yuri Cook is the doctor in the office. I live in Wylie and make the trek. My 3 yr. old son is not vaccinated and I am due to have another son in August. He will not receive vaccinations either. They are great about it.

Also, you can recieve a waiver from the state of Texas for daycares, in-home care, preschool and public school. Just an FYI.

Hi M.,

My baby is 13 months old and is NOT been vaccinated. Our pedi is Dr. Agrawal. She is very open-minded and respectful. However, she did recommend that our baby NOT be placed in daycare, which we NEVER planned to do in the first place.
Her office is near downtown Dallas at 3310 Live Oak St #201 her number is ###-###-####.

Regards,
M.

Just out of curiosity, what is your reason for not vaccinating or delaying vaccinations? Because, I must say that I'm in agreement with the other mom who said you are putting your child at a much greater risk by not getting vaccinated. I have done a great amount of research on this topic and there are no truly conclusive studies that link autism to vaccinations. I don't mean to preach either, but this is a very serious decision you are making that could really affect your child.

This is not going to answer your question but I would do research first on the advantages of vaccinating. There is no proof that vaccines cause autism if thats what your worried about. Your childs health is much more at stake if you don't get the vaccines. He can get polio, small pox (which is deadly)and many more life threatening diseases.
I don't mean to preach.
Good Luck to you, Lonie
