Need Intermittent And/or Part Time Day Care (Trophy Club/Grapevine Area)

Ladies -

Does anyone know of, or have any suggestions regarding, day cares in the area that:

- offer educational or at least well structured programs
- operate at least 7:30am - 4:00pm
- are near or between Grapevine and Trophy Club (possibly as far as Keller if the "fit" is right)
- (and here's the biggie) offer a "drop 'em when you need to" program that also allows a "pay per use" structure

I am looking to return to teaching via substitute teaching for a while, so the exact days I'll need the day care are not set. And when I'm not working, I'll probably want to have the boys with me, plus we really can't spend the money for full time care just now. Hence the desired "pay per use" structure. And no, we don;t have friends or family in the area that can help - bummer.

We are also considering a nanny, but again, the need to be flexible is may not allow that option.

I know this is probably an impossible situation, so your helpful suggestions are welcome!

Thank you ladies!

Bertha Robison offers in-home care in Grapevine and can be very flexible. She only keeps children up to 2 years but offers a loving, "grandmother" approach to care in addition to basic infant/toddler education (songs, alphabet, books). My two daughters stayed with "Nanny" from birth to 2 years + and had a great head-start when they started pre-school. Her # is ###-###-####.

There is a new place in Colleyville off 26 at Hall Johnson next to Metro Cinema...Kids N Play...or something like that...looks like it would be a perfect option...

I wish I did. I work mostly from home and have to go in occasionaly and have had no luck at all. I live in Keller and have decided either to find a mom to swap with (which is just as hard, lol) or to find a part time nany which is like 8-10 an hour

You might want to try Horizon Kidz in Roanoke. My daughter went there from age 2-6. She's excelling at school now. The daycare is structured but with a more family touch (family owned/operated). You can pay either a weekly fee or a drop in price but it's still more affordable than most.

There are 2 drop in daycare places in Southlake. I only know that area as my husband worked in the area. There is Kidztime at 335 N. Carrol Ave and Adventure Kids Playcare at 621 E. Southlake Blvd. I have used Adventure Kids Playcare many times and think they are great. My kids are 6, 4 and 2 and always beg to go. At AKP, you pay a registration fee and then just pay as you use. Once you've registered, you can go to any of the AKP sites. You can also pre-purchase hours and can save money that way. The only problem is you can only use those hours at the site you purchased them. So, if you buy those hours in Southlake, you can't use them in Flower Mound. I hope this helps!
