I have used wild yam for years and that stopped all night sweats, hot flashes and mood swings. Hope this helps you as it did for me.

I have been using Arbonne's Prolief natural balancing cream for 3 years -- no more hot flashes and has been truly a life saver. I have also used the PhytoProlief. Sorry, you do have to get it through a rep. It has a pemeasured pump and lasts about a month and a half, using one pump per night. This is a natural, safe way to control your hot flashes and other signs of menopause. You can read more in Dr. John Lee's book -- "What Your Doctor May Not Tell You About Menopause". Good luck!

You might like to pick up a copy of Dr Christine Northrup's book entitled "The wisdom of Menapause". It helped me.
Good luck,

Not there yet, but have heard that soy and soy supplements made for menopause can help. Maintaining a balanced diet and getting plenty of sleep and exercise are always important. Avoid a lot of refined sugar and caffeine (but eat dark chocolate!) Valerian is good for sleep support and relaxation, and St. John's wort for mild to moderate depression.

I have been using Shaklee Menopause comples and vitamins for twelve years and have no side effects and they work wonderful!! I do not recomend you use over the counter or perscription drugs for this very natural occurance in life. There is such a better and more natural way to do things like this.

I am not a REP. but I do use EstrAval from Melaleuca. I tried plain St. John's Wort but it just was not enough. I had also been on Premrin for many years and my Doctor took me off because of cancer scare.
Good Luck

S., I noticed the some women suggested progesterone cream and wanted to let you know that wild yam is a wonderful source for natural progesterone. It has worked wonders for many women who were slaves to Premrin. However, you should know that we can get too much natural progesterone and put our bodies into a frenzy because of it. You have my wishes for relief!

My mom had a hysterectomy 3 1/2 yrs ago and her goal was to avoid hormone therapy. She was introduced to Reliv and has been able to avoid the hormone therapy. I have since met quite a few other women who have seen great benefits from these products. I have seen great benefits for my monthly issues--not menapause yet. It is soy based which is very good for womens issues.

God bless

I can't take estrogen due to having had breast cancer. My doctor put me on an antidepressant- it works pretty good. I still have several hot flashes a day.
One thing that helps at night: I bought a satin pillow cover, which feels cool to the touch and when I get hot I flip it over to the cool side.
Hang in there, they do get less with time and eventually go away.

I used a prescription bio-identical hormone combination called Tri-Est cream and an over the counter progesterone cream for a few years to help through the worst of the peri-menopausal symptoms. I am now weaning myself off those as I don't think it is good to use any hormones long term even those that are closer to our natural hormones. The Tri-est must be made by a compounding pharmacist--The Medicine Chest is where I got mine. I am now in menopause and I make an infusion of red clover and nettles and drink about a cup every day. That has helped more than the black cohosh that so many people recomend. I ordered the herbs from Mountain Rose Herbs--a company that has bulk dried herbs. I also gather my own red clover but could not find enough this past summer to make it throught the winter. I put about 3 Tbls of nettles and a large handful of the clover blossoms in a quart canning jar, cover with water that has just come to a boil and let sit for at least 4 hours, strain and drink! By the way, no one should ever use premarin--not only is it dangerous, it causes terrible cruelty to the horses--mares are kept pregnant and in a tiny stall so they can't move to harvest their urine--which is where the estrogen comes from--the babies not needed to replace the mothers are slaughtered for meat. I have never thought it could possibly be healthy to use something from a process like this--horse hormones are not really compatible with us--and recent studies have proven what many of us suspected!

!st I had been on premarin I had a hysterectomy along with other hormones over the years when the doctor I found that my body couldn't tolerate them to any degree to give me relief, until finally he decided that maybe my hormone levels were out of whack so he got me a saliva test to take so that it could be determined which ones were out of alignment. It is a little pricey $300 for the full test series and insurance does not always cover the whole thing but I felt it was well worth the money in my opinion.
After test came back he found that there was no single drug in the book that could cover the variances to bring levels in line so we decided on the triest cream that Debrah suggested that had to be compounded. It got to be extremely expensive so we did test again to see what was really out of whack and found that I could raise the level I was low on and went to a health food store to find the best organic compound over the counter and now I am hot flash free. So before starting anything over the counter by yourself I suggest a serious talk with your doctor, whom I hope you feel comfortable discussing these things with, it can really help change your life and you feel like you are participating in your wellbeing.

A little about me I am 55 year old grandma, that has two wonderful children a boy 31yrs old, a gorgeous daughter-in-law-28yrs old and a daughter 28years old who is the mother of my two grandchildren a boy 8.5yrs old & baby girl 3 months old. And a wife for 35years to a wonderful husband.

Hi, S., I'm a retired nurse and started all this stuff over 10 years ago. I have taken 2 different products that can be found @ the grocery or pharmacy and cost $10-$15 a month. They both work well, but after some time, I seem to feel the hot flashes creeping in, so I switch from one to the other every year or so. One is called Healthy Woman, and the other is called New Phase. They are herbal. It takes only a few days for you to feel the results. I was having hot flashes every HOUR, so these pills are a Godsend!

My mother didn't go through menopause but she had a complete hysterectomy. She tried many different things from the doctor but nothing worked long term. She would have horrible mood swings!! Then she tried Estroven and it did wonders! I think she has used it for about 20 years now! They have a website. Hope this helps!
