Need a Pediatrician in Essex County!

I have a great pediatrician that has an office in Clifton. It is called Tenafly Pediatrics. They have I believe a total of 6 offices in northern NJ. I go to the office in Paramus. I love the office. They have separate well and sick waiting rooms, office staff very friendly, they send out a monthly newsletter to let you know of any important info (ex: when they are getting their flu vaccines) and the Dr I see is very friendly and waits to answer any and all questions. You also can go to any office if you need to see a dr right away and your normal dr is booked for the day. But I one time called because I was concerned about something with my daughter and they said how fast can you get here and they took me right away. On their website THey list the insurances they particiate in. Also listed there is the hospitals they are affiliated with. I didn't go to them til after the baby was born and I have been very happy with them.

We recently moved to the area and had Verona Pediatrics recommended to us. I am similar to you in terms of philosophy and we have been happy with them so far. We use Dr. Mallon.

Hi - I used Dr. Lubin in Livingston/Orange area - I think that’s about 15 mins or so from you but he was wonderful and does NOT push the antibiotics (which my husband and I are also against). I was actually referred to him from my OBGYN/Friend. We met with him prior to having our 1st and just loved his laid back manner.

Our 2nd child had some health issues and was hospitalized and he was wonderful during the whole ordeal! We liked him so much that even after we moved down the shore we would make the 45 min trek to see him for check-up/appts. Unfortunately with all the medical problems my 2nd child has, it got to be too much travel for emergencies, so we had to switch to someone closer.

** One caveat - we did have a few problems with office staff not being responsive quickly a few times - but once we spoke to the Dr about it, it never happened again. He understood, when you have a sick child you want/need quick responses. Hope it helps you and you enjoy him if you decide to go.

Dr. Maria Yerovi in Bloomfield is wonderful to the babies and to the parents. She has a private practice with no partners and also works at mountainside hospital where I delivered my son. We've been with her over 5 years even though we moved further away 3 years ago. My son loves her even despite the shots she's given. What I like most about her was her immediate responses whenever I had concerns, questions at any time of day or night. For first time mom she's the best (or any mom). She has 3 of her own so always working on familiar territory. She never prescribes unnecessarily. I highly recommend her. Good luck.
