Start out using a onesie. This worked for a week for us. Then she learned to reach in the leg hole and peal off the diaper. Then I added the zip up, snap closer jammies. This lasted another week or so. In the end, we found that a diaper on backwards w/duct tape..a onesie on backwards, then added a sleeper. I guess all the obstacles made him give up!

When he figures out how to undo the onesie (my DD is 14 months and she can get one off so fast!), then cut the feet off a blanket sleeper (or buy one without feet) and put it on him backwards. I know lots of kids who can unzip things, but I have yet to meet one who could unzip a zipper down their back!

And...you're lucky he only wet the bed LOL.
I know I've heard of more than a few kids who have taken off poopy diapers and then "fingerpainted" their cribs...EWWWWW!

just so you know you are not the only one.. we are driving home in the car the other day. All of a sudden I feel something hit me in the head. My 3 year old took off all his clothes-while in his car seat --including his diaper and threw the diaper at me--yuk.

I had the same problem with my ds when he was 2. I did what the pp suggested and bought zip up jammies and put them on backwards. Solved the problem instantly. And there was no need to cut off the feet, they twisted fine.

(And my ds was one who painted with poop on the wall LOL!)

if you are willing to try cloth diapers, you could buy a couple of cloth diapers that have snaps (for example fuzzi bunz) for nighttime. those snaps are very hard to undo! you can buy them cheap on www.diaperswappers.com!

My son does the same thing. I usually get him the onesies that snap at the bottom for the day and the pajamahs that have the feet. It zips up from about the knee to the neck, those help a lot

My 2 yr old can get her onsie off too. I have turned her feetie jammies backwards with the zipper in the back . You have to use a size biggger so the legs and turn around. Or I also use the sleep sacs. Those too can be reversed so they can't get out. The sac has also kept them from crawling out of their cribs.

I had this problem with my granddaughter in the summer (she's 21 1/2 months old now), so I did pretty much what the first responder did: I just put shorts on over her diaper. No shirt at all.

Our 14 month is doing the same thing but she only has access to her diaper when we are changing/dressing her because she always wears onsies.

This morning, my husband put her diaper on backwards so she couldn't open the tabs. Not sure how long that will work for, but it was kinda cute watching her being perplexed as to where the tabs went. :)
