M.D.
My dad and brother are normally 97.something. I don't think a constant of 99.something is abnormal, but I'd probably talk to the doctor to get a medical opinion.
My advice though is she just runs on the warmer side.
For the last year she has always had a temp of 99. something and she's never sick, I'm wondering if it's normal? I haven't asked her ped yet, I rather ask the REAL experts first :)
It is always taken in her ear in the morning.

Sooooo......
.04 above normal?
How and where are you taking the temp?
The accepted range of "normal" temperature is from 97F (36.1C) to 99F (37.2C)
C&P from webmd
My temp is always 97. something. This is your kid's normal and it is good for you to know what her normal is.
I've always been a bit colder than "normal," and my younger daughter is a bit hotter than "normal." 99 is your daughter's normal.
Normal.
Lots of human beings are slightly above or below the average. BTW - 98.6 is the average.
Both my daughters temps range from 99.0-99.9 with our ear thermometer throughout the day.
how are you taking it? my normal temp under my tounge is 97. something. they average things out for the greater of the population.
Not a fever. Our pediatrician has written articles about kids' fevers and she always says that many kids run a little hotter or cooler than others. And that 99 point whatever is simply not enough to call it a fever, ever. This is her normal body temperature so just consider it as such and don't worry any more.
There is as much as a full point of difference between oral and rectal temps, so go online for a chart of the temps and what is considered "fever" with each type of reading. Also, those ear thermometers doctors use are very sensitive but the ones for home use are lousy and inaccurate! Under-arm temps are useless too. Frankly for younger kids, rectal is the preferred and most accurate temperature before they are old enough to get them to help with a reliable oral temperature measurement.
Just remember when you take her temp when she feels bad to account for the fact that her normal temp is just under 100. There is nothing wrong with that. Do ask the doctor to check and be sure so you have peace of mind, though -- we are not doctors here, just moms with experience....
I always have a temp of about 97. There's some wiggle room in what "normal" is.
Normal, but why do you take her temp every day?
So your daughter's temp isn't "textbook". If its always about the same...I wouldn't worry a bit. You know your child better than anyone. Be sure you inform any medical people in the event of emergencies. I have my own kids & grandchildren + worked in the health office at an elementary school for 10 years. I've seen that several times. As long as she eats healthy and has regular BMs...be sure she doesn't get dehydrated. Count it all joy. She's a blessing!!!
Totally normal; our temp varies throughout the day. In fact, not really considered a fever until 101. However... I'm with Patty -- why are you taking your daughter's temperature every day??????
Yah I askedy daughters doctor about that because hers is always lower than the normal. He said that their is a range or normal, and to go by what she normally is.
My DH's normal temp is 99. He was always trying to trick the school nurse when he wanted to go home. LOL!
Also, if you're using an ear thermometer, they do read high. There was a conversion chart in the instructions that came with ours.
