Oh. My. Heck. I did NOT know mustard stains so bad!!! I have NEVER had any problems getting stains out of clothes, but for some reason i can NOT get the mustard out of my DD's clothes!!! It sucks, because it's my favorite outfit to put her in, it's fairly new, and I didn't notice the stain was still there until after I had run it through the dryer... so it's probably been heat set by now.

Any advice? I would HATE to throw this outfit away. It's sooo cute! lol.

What can I do next?

Okay... So my mum had ME for a daughter. If it wasn't grass stains and blood, it was mustard (often staining pink!), ink, blue dye (don't ask).

Instead if throwing out my splattered clothes... She invested in dyes... And a paintbrush. And took the article outside and 'splatterpainted' a lot of my clothes. Others she traced designs in bleach. Others she rhinestoned.

I've learned that 90% of life is graceful recovery: from 'ruined' to "What a great idea!"

A single spot is an accident / looks sloppy. A hundred intentional spots is fashion.

Mix a fairly thick paste of baking soda and water, slather it on the stain, put the clothing in a plastic bag overnight, then wash it in cold water. Put the clothes in the sun to dry. You may need to repeat this a couple times if the stain is super stubborn.

If the outfit is dark in color, be careful to only put the baking soda on the STAIN because it really pulls the color out. Great for getting the stain out, but, of course, you don't want to pull the outfit color out.

Also, if you ever get a grease or lotion type stain, use DAWN dish detergent in the same manner, just no need to mix to mix the dawn with water. Works every time!

When all else fails I just keep washing it. I got mustard on a favorite t-shirt of mine. I continued just wearing it to bed and around the house. Weeks later I suddenly noticed the stain was gone. :D

Do you think that a dry cleaner might be able to treat it with something for you?

Spray with Zout. Let set for awhile. Then soak in Oxyclean and coldish water for a week or so. Rewash and check the stain. If not gone, repeat. But honestly, it should be gone. Good luck!
