we live just south of the tracks. we spend tons of time at the parks -- they are great! we live near Wilder Park. but there are parks all over the place. there is also a splash park (through the park district) that is fun for kids around your daughter's age. we never lack for things to do. if you want to meet people, just go to a park and you'll find lots of nice moms and little kids. hang out at Wilder and you're bound to meet me! (i have a 3 year old and 19 month old -- both boys)

Hi E.,

My name is B. and I will be 28 next month. My husband and I will be married 5 years in a couple of weeks. We have a daughter who will be 3 next month and a 14 month old son. They are what life is all about, Love, Love, Love. We are moving to Elmhurst soon also. We are on a slow frustruating market right now as we are trying to sell. Currently we live in Villa Park. Pump It Up in Elmhurst is fun, so are the parks like Wilder Park in Elmhurst. We just got a membership at the Morton Arboretum in Lisle. Our kids love it. Cosley Zoo in Wheaton is adorable. Jumps and Jiggles in Elk Grove Village is fun also. Hope this helps and that we can meet up sometime to get to know eachother.

Welcome to Elmhurst! We moved here last year. There are so many great activities for kids. www.epd.org is the website for the park district and they have lots of classes. Toddler Tinker Time is a great class for kids and moms (meets once per week). I joined it when we first moved here and met a lot of great moms. We still get together for playdates. Also, Tues and Fridays there is open-gym at the Wagner center which is a great way to burn off energy when it is cold/rainy out. The park system is wonderful and the children's dept at the library is fantastic. Have fun!

Hi,

The Elmhurst park district is great. There are tons of activities available through the park district. Check out www.epd.org Look under Publications/Downloads and see the brochure for tons of classes/stuff to do with kids. The parks in Elmhurst are wonderful too - lots of parks everywhere. Eldridge Park, Butterfield, Wilder, Pioneer etc. See the brochure for a map of the parks. Berens Park has a splash area which is wonderful. Elmhurst always has a ton of stuff going on. You'll find out soon when you move here. Our library is wonderful. When you are here, check out the Children's section at the library. Its a wonderful place to spend time and they have storytime for different ages. You can sign up for that. The Prairie Path is a great place to take a walk. There are a lot of activities and you will get the Elmhurst front porch newsletter in the mail every so often once you move here plus mailings from the library. If you need any further information, just email me.
Welcome to the neighborhood.

Aarti.
