I just moved and am getting bit all the time. I itch so bad it's keeping me up at night and I'm pregnant... Any ideas? I've tried some over the counter stuff and am not having much luck. Is there something I should soak in the bath???

What can I do next?

As odd as this may sound, cream toothpaste. You can use the gel too, but it doesn't work as well as the plain white cream kind. It may have something to do with the mint.

When I was younger, I got 40 mosquito bites on my back in one night. I was not a happy camper, to say the least! The camp I was at used something called Itch-B-Gone. I believe it is available at Walgreens. Within about 15 minutes, all the itching was seriously gone! It was great!

Have you tried Sting Stop? It's an herbal/homeopathic gel or cream that you can get at Whole Foods. Works really well and doesn't have the chemicals in it that a lot of the OTC stuff does..

Hi
Shaklee has a cleaning product called Basic H. I bath in that (it's better and safer than bubble bath products) and I don't get any insect bites. You can also apply it directly to a bite and it will take away the sting and itching. The same for burns.
I can send you a sample if you are interested.

Ask your OB if it's OK to take an antihistamine such as Benadryl (shouldn't be a problem because Benadryl is commonly used in pregnancy).

Mosquito bites that itch are from an allergic reaction. Apparently the topical antihistamines aren't doing the job, so I'd recommend asking if an oral one would be more effective.

Make a paste of meat tenderizer and slather it on. You'll smell funny, but it stops the itching. You could put some gauze over it if the bites are under clothes.
