MMR Shot - Anyone Know Where I Can Get It Broken down into Three Vaccinations?

According to my pediatrition there is no way to get the MMR Vaccine broken down into doeses. It is not manufactured that way. It is made in single doses for each child rather than larger bottles where you could do smaller amounts over time.

My son just had the MMR shot this week and although it is a bit scary I decided to do it after there was an outbreak of whooping cough around here. The last thing I want is my son to come down with measles.

Maybe you can find someone who will break up the shot but I have not been able to find a Doctor who will.

my pediatrician told me that while she would not supply the individual MMR shots, she said that her nurses would administer them if i supplied them. she told me that you can order the individual shots, but usually only in larger batches. so, you would end up with 10 measles shots, 10 mumps shots, etc. perhaps you can find other moms to go in with you and split the shots and the cost. my pediatrician does not buy into the vaccine/autism link, but she said that she does not see why pediatricians should be opposed to their nurses administering the shots individually.

Bancroft Pediatrics in San Leandro is a great place. I used to work there and I know that they do it. I've given the shot separatly to a few patients. Dr. Santucci (male dr) is great and will work with you and your needs.

I tried to find this too, with little luck. I called a practice near CPMC (Tang maybe? I am not sure if this is the name) but you have be a patient there and they weren't accepting new patients. You might try contacting Getzwell, in Noe Valley. They do not accept insurance though and there is a "membership' fee to be a patient there.

My pediatrician said if we could get 10 people they might be able to order it. It's too expensive to order them all separately. The Dr. Sears website has some info on obtaining them separately, though I think I found none of their suggestions workable. I plan to call the SF public health dept, but from the info on their website, it doesn't look like they have them either.

We swiched to Kaiser for that reason. I also know that Dr. Solod does it. I have a few friends that go to him.
If you have a boy, he doesn't need R portion of the shot, and M and M need to be done at least a month apart.
Any pediatrician can order it , but it's a hussle. They have their doubts too, but don't want to have an office inconvinianced. I was tol that by my previous "great" ped.
