Hi M.,

My name is A. Ruckman and I am a 33 y/o stay-at-home mother of 3 children. I had this same problem about 6 months ago. The first thing I would advice you to do is tell your Gynecologist, if you have one. If not, then let your doctor know. Can you feel any lumps in your breast? Are you pregnant or breastfeeding? I had this soreness in my left breast along with a few small lumps. My Gynecologist ordered me a Mammogram and breast ultrasound which fortunately did not show anything. But, I was still having the pain. She felt around and said that I did have some small lumps and unfortunately I cannot remember what she called "it" but she prescribed for me to cut down on my caffeine intake and take Vitamin E capsules and I have not had the pain since!!! I hope this is helpful to you.

With out more information about you it's hard to make any suggestions. If you are breast feeding and you have an infection you need to see a Dr. If you have a Cyst it can cause pain and again you might want to consult with a Dr. If it's your monthly sometimes Advil can help.
Good Luck,
T.
PS Next time let us know a little more about your situation.

My first question would be, are you pregnant, or have just recently delivered. However, I went through that with some of my periods, even. The advice to check it out with a physician may be the best way to go.

I hope and pray you get better soon. You could take a couple Advil for it. God bless.

Are you breastfeeding? if so, it sounds like mastitis-which is a pretty common (but painful) infection.
Regardless, call your Dr. and have them check it out--any sort of pain like that is not normal under any circumstances and should be looked at by a doctor.

Check with your doctor. You could have fibrocystic breasts (lumpy breasts that can sometimes be painful, but are otherwise normal) or possibly a clogged milk duct. But it is also possible that it is symptomatic of something more serious. So call and make an appt with your Doctor ASAP.
