Hi all! So I have an 11 week old and my belly skin is still so loose. It really bothers me.
I gained under 20 lbs when pregnant, lost all of it within a week, so what's with this loose skin?
I did not have it after my first. And I workout all the time!
Will it go back or will it be like this from now on?!

What can I do next?

My DD is 3 months old (my second kiddo) and although I'm just a couple of pounds from pre-preggo weight, I can't lose the belly either. I know it's normal and I can tell it's definitely different than the first time around. Thing is, it only bothers me! My husband tells me I'm beautiful every day and that he loves my body. I'm trying to not be so h*** o* myself. Hope you can, too!

Sorry to say, but the loose skin will stay unless you have surgery.

You are a mom and it is one of those God given gifts we get from giving birth to a child. I have 3 girls and my youngest is 10 weeks now and it seems that my pooch is bigger than it was with the 2nd. I don't think it will go away. Some exercise will help and ab workouts but it will never completely go away. My mom has the same issue but hers is worse than mine as she had a c-section back in the 80's and it ruined her muscles. Embrace it! My hubby understands and doesn't mind the small pooch. I use spanx when we go out somewhere romantic where I need a cocktail or tight fitting dress and it works miracles. Other than that I embrace that I am a mom that is able to give birth and this is just one of the cons.

What do you mean "what's with this loose skin?" LMAO! You were pregnant and I would guess that in spite of your efforts to gain much weight you still had a large belly due to having a growing baby and uterus and such. The skin stretches. With working out, you're helping your muscles get taut again but skin isn't the same. Plus this time your body has been through a second pregnancy and you're older than before. Age and experience have a lot to do with it too. It might tighten up a bit as your muscles lift, but chances are high that the skin won't go back to looking like pre-pregnancy naturally. Plus, not for nothing, but YOU'RE ONLY 11 WEEKS POST-PARTUM. It's takes most women at least a full year if not many years to lose pregnancy weight and then some.

Wear your new body proudly. You earned it. Different doesn't mean bad. Count your blessings. You could be a lot worse off.

I posted this exact question after my 2nd. It is still there but not that bad. I did planks every single day which I believe help. When you can, you'll have to start lots of cardio, start to eat better, hang in there mama.

Hey. New mommy don't worry about it. It will go away but u still have to keep working out. Especially the lower abs. And i used a tighten skin creme. That really helped me as well. I used an avon skin creme.

Eight years down the line and my skin is still loose. I think it's mostly genetic whether or not your skin tightens up or not (sort of like stretch marks). Get to your happy weight and see what happens, but sadly no amount of muscle toning will help as it's the actual skin, not the muscle. Bummer.

It's to be expected... that skin got stretched out, and was held stretched out, so it needs time to spring back. I barely gained any weight either, and I am actually lighter than my pre-pregnancy weight... but I still have a little loose skin. (My DD is 11 months old.) Most of it was back to 'normal' by the time I hit the 6 month mark, but that last little bit is taking forever! What I hate is that even though I am 'thinner' than I was, I have the stupid pooch that won't go away. Blargh!

My second son is 10 months old and I still have it. I don't even remember it the first time, and I was ALL belly, but this time it just hangs. Bleh! I have started training for a triathlon this summer and it seems to be going away slowly, but I'm not sure it will ever go back to what it was. It's there, we're moms...I'm ok with it.

Good luck,

Your body has stretched out for your baby. It will probably take months for the skin to go back to normal even if you're working out. I would continue to work out and do crunches.

I gained 32 lbs. with my first and lost all of my baby weight and more just 4 months post partum. With my second, I only gained 29 lbs. and still have some weight on 15 months later and yes...still some jiggly belly skin...lol! I am an avid runner and usually weight isn't a problem for me.

My advice is to relax and enjoy the baby! There are so many more important things to worry about:)
