So What Happened?

The feedback was WONDERFUL. I looked into all of the options. They were all too expensive, though. I kept on looking and I found the park district as another option. I made an appointment and I was amazed at the level of professionalism there. The program was perfect for me. I needed a part time school and prefered an afternoon schedule, which is exactly what I got. It is totally affordable, the women are approachable and kind to the children, the class has 16 kids and 3 teachers.

I thank everyone for sharing thier experience with me. I appreciate everyones help...I was amazed at the attention my question generated. I love it that everyone is eager to help.

I don't know if this would be of any interest to you but, my son attends the Smart Start program at Governor's State University (University Park). It is only about a 20 - 25 minute drive from New Lenox. It is for ages 3-5 and they pracice the Reggio Learning Method which started in Italy. You can look up the study on-line if you are interested. They only attend 1/2 day sessions from 9:00am - 11:30am and from 1:00pm - 3:30pm. It's alittle like Kindergarden I guess. My son has a minor Spinabifida defect and is a little delayed in his large motor skills. After the school screened him they decided he qualified and the state covers his tuition. Now they don't sit your children down and actually teach lessons however, they do have art, gym, music, reading and of course recess. They have a great play ground, indoors and out. They figure that with the kids being around eachother and doing these tasks that they will improve. My son definetly has more mobility and can do more then he ever has before. He loves his teachers as well. If you are interested in more information you can contact them at ###-###-####. Hope this information helped.

I am currently looking into getting my 4 year old daughter into a preschool in the area and found that there is a Montessori in downtown Frankfort, a newly opened preschool/daycare run by a husband and wife in Mokena (near 191st & LaGrange) called Little Blossoms Early Education, I spoke to them and they are a contender for me. I have their number, it is 708/479-3737, and there is a Children's World on Route 30 about 1/2 mile west of Lagrange Rd, I have heard excellent things about it as well. If you get on the web and type in Frankfort, IL you will find a link with all business names in Frankfort (perhaps put out by the Village of Frankfort) and that is where I found the Montessori number. Hope this helps.

Hello,

I have looked into this in great detail lately. I have a 3 yr old who goes to Little Blossoms Early Education center. It is a preschool, and daycare is also available. They have it from 8:30 to 11. She absolutely loves it there, the teachers are awesome. It's located right by Mr. Benny's off of 191st and La Grange road, across from Mindy's ribs. I also hear that Bobbie Noonans is a wonderful pre-school. My friend signed her 3yo up at St. Anthony's which is a catholic preschool in Frankfort. I heard this is great also. I guess it depends on what you're looking for. Hope this helps!

Hello,

I use to send my daughter to Children's World in Frankfort. They were pretty good. We decided to take her out because she said she was bored and wasn't learning anything. Just so you understand she is five years old and doing second grade work for me. I liked Children's World but it wasn't enough for her. Now she goes to Little Peoples Preschool in Mokena. It is in a home and classroom size is 6/1, sometimes there are two teachers. Mrs. Pat, the teacher, I believe use to be a public schoolteacher but decided she wanted out. Anyway if you would like more information on either of these places feel free to email me.
