Looking for Playgroups - Allen Park, MI

L., I've had great success finding a playgroup that works for me on Yahoo Groups. I had to try out a few before I found one that is perfect, but now I have been with our current group for a year and a half and it is wonderful! I think when I first started looking I just searched for Moms group or Playgroup in Michigan. You have to sort through a bunch, but just read the descriptions til you find one for your area. I would invite you to join ours, but I see you are in Allen Park, and we are mostly in Westland/Garden City.

Every Friday me and two other mothers go to the Ann Arbor Hands On museum. I bought the membership for the year @ $75. It was a bit of a splurge for me as I try to stick to a budget, however I considered it a great investment in my son's education and socialization. I am thinking of some other days when we could meet for other free activities as I am pretty bored until Friday rolls around. I live in the Novi area and the other mothers that attend are in South Lyon.

The Shores Church in St.Clair Shores has a Moms' Group on Thursday mornings from 10-11:30. The kids play in the room adjacent to the meeting room, with a sitter. It is a small Christian-based group and the meetings end with the moms praying around the table for the needs of the families. There is a continental breakfast served and a very informal teaching & lots of conversation. This year the teaching part is about expressing love in our lives (based on a new book by Gary Chapman). Church is located at Manhattan and Lange, just east of Little Mack and west of Harper (1/4 mi E of I-94) and 1 block S of 10 Mile. Enter through door in Lange parking lot.
