Looking for Pediatrician - Fort Worth,TX

I wish I knew of a doctor who supported an alternative vaccination schedule, but I never was able to find one. I ended up just never taking my children to the doctor. It turns out that they never ever got sick enough to need a doctor. Now that one is Kindergarten age, with a more mature immune system and more exposure to more children with more potential for being exposed to a disease, I finally took him to a regular pediatrician. Of course I got the rolling eyes and heavy sighs and the "your child is at high risk!" chastisement, but whatever. At least I have a child who is free of any crazy allergies or other unpleasant side effects of various injected toxins. Good luck to you no matter what you decide to do!

We go to Dr. Scott at Grapevine Pediatrics. I would not say he loves my alternative schedule, but he didn't give me too hard of a time about it. He asked that I have it written down, and give him a copy of my plan and he follows it.

Try Dr. Nina Cahan. She's a family doc instead of a pedi, but she's great with kids and is totally fine with our alternative vaccination schedule. She's also happy to recommend alternative remedies instead of jumping straight to drugs. We love her! www.coppellfamilydocs.com is her website.

We go to Dr. Sandra Arca in Grapevine and have for the past 7 years. While I wouldn't say she's "in favor of" an alterative vaccination schedule, I did ask to slow down the vaccinations for my middle son, and she seemed fine with it. It just meant we came in every 3 months or so between his first and second year checkups so he could get the spaced-out shots.

I will say that, with the research that's come out since then (3 years ago), and having watched my son go through the pain of shots so often over that period (vs. his older brother, who got them all over with at once), I chose to do the regular vaccination schedule with my youngest.

Check into Dr. Chartrand in McKinney. We just took our newborn son to him and found him to be a perfect fit for our family. We live in Arlington and he was well worth the drive. Also Dr. Bain in Frisco was highly recommended by a family friend. Dr. Sears website has a list of "Vaccine Friendly" doctors. Both of these are listed there, as well as Dr. Cahan who was suggested by someone else.
