Hello, we are moving cross country and I am looking for affordable moving boxes of all sizes. We have a very limited moving budget so I am willing to drive a distance for free packing boxes. Thanks very much!

I always get my boxes for free from liquor stores. They have great heavy duty boxes in all sizes. Most of the time if you ask them they are willing to set some aside for you.

Good luck and have a safe move!

Try Freecycle. There are several local freecycle groups on Yahoo Groups. Basically it is like craigslist, but everything is free. I was just about to list my moving boxes, but a friend just came and got them. It is a busy moving season, I am sure between freecycle and craigslist you will find some. You can always try the old fashioned way too, and go to stores while they are restocking and see if they will give you some. Places like Target and Walmart have people there stocking overnight.

You should ask at grocery stores, as well, for bigger boxes (liquor stores are great for smaller, very sturdy ones). If they don't have any at the moment, they'll usually tell you when they get deliveries so you can stop back then.

I don't have any boxes, but if you want or need bubble wrap I have quite a bit of that.

We just moved to Rowlett and have plenty of nice size boxes to give away. We were waiting for bulk trash pick up on Thursday, but if you want to pick asap...they are yours.

I found my moving boxes on the free stuff on craigslist and also found that a specialty china/crystal store had alot of boxes on a regular basis. Theirs were great because they had the dividers for glasses and some wrap for packing.

You may want to call someone like United or the major moving companies. When I had a corporate move they came to my house and took all of our boxes. I asked the person who picked up our boxes what they did with them and she said just gives them away to whoever wants them. People come to their warehouse and get the used boxes. Good luck!
