I just moved here to Florida from California and I am looking for a safe environment for my 2 boys. I really would like for them to be in a learning environment rather than a daycare. My 4 1/2 year old was in preschool in California, which was a wonderful preschool and my 2 1/2 yr old has not been in school as of yet. I am finding it hard to let go of them here in this unfamilar place. Thank you for your time.

What can I do next?

Hi K.. I too just moved to Florida from NY though 2 weeks ago and I have a 3 year old but I found a great daycare/preschool that is through a church. Try www.childcareaware.com and see where that gets you. When I moved I just looked in the phonebook and went to visit some places and I found my daughter's school. She loves it there.

Good Luck !

Welcome to Florida. I am not sure where Riverside is? I live in Orlando. What part of California did you live? I lived in San Fernando, Camarillo, and Ventura. My family lives in Camarillo, San Diego and Hayward. That's probably covered the who state. Anyway, if you just want to e-mail and talk I am here. Take care and may GOD bless you and your children!!

Dear K.,

I will check with my neighbor who has small children in preschool and get back with you. I know she is very happy with the school where her son currently attends.

Welcome to Tampa Bay,
M.

I have just started my son in a Primrose School and I love it. He is in the toddler class. I am not sure how far you're willing to drive or how much you can afford, but these schools (which are independently owned) are designed like classrooms. Look up Primrose Schools on the web. Good luck!

I moved here recently as well, with my 13 month-old son, and am facing the same question! My sister recommends Montessori -- and I am planning to look at the Montessori World school this spring for my son. Hope that helps!
