Looking for a New Pediatrician - Plano,TX

I am looking for a new pediatrician in the North Dallas, Plano, Garland, Wylie area. I am tired of the laid back, "wait and see," non-interventionist attitude I am currently getting. My son likes him well enough, loves the medical assistant but the doctor is just very flat and not open for discussing causes, alternative treatments, etc. We are on our 3rd round of anti-biotics in as many weeks for ear infections. Finished the last one Saturday and started showing concrete symptoms again Sunday. MD says it is another ear infection but I contend they never went away. (BTW, 4th ear infection since 1/07, 3 in March alone). No referral to ENT. On top of it, we are travel internationally this week and he refused to change to prescription to a non-refridgerated one. Very frustrated! I want a pedi that is open, listens and serious about interventions.

What can I do next?

Hi A.,
I love the Pedi's I work for at North Dallas Pediatrics. Dr Seibert and Dr Moshier are a bit more talkative :-) The number is ###-###-####. We have an office in Plano at 15th and Coit also small offices in Frisco and Medical City Dallas. If you have specific questions please let me know.

That being said- there is a routine of antibiotics that MUST be followed before a MD can refer you to an ENT or the insurance company won't pay for the specialist. As far as I know there is only one antibiotic that does not need to be refrigerated. If your child was already on this or one very similar and he failed, then the MD will probably NOT write for that RX. You can ask the pharmacist to give you just the powder and then you can mix it yourself.

Hope this helps!

D.

Dr. Danny Kim. He is located inside Plano Presbyterian Hospital. He was with Dr. Hidalgo for a while too. It was because of Dr. Kim that my son was sent to an ENT and had tubes placed for his ear infections that continued for over 3 months.

Good Luck, I know how frustrating this can be.

Dr. Mehendale with Willowbend Pediatrics in Plano. She is great; listens very well and always very reassuring. Her office is on Communication Dr. near Plano Presby.

I am sorry what you and your son are going through. I know how frustrating that can be when he gets so many ear infections.
I HIGHLY recommend Dr Hector Hidalgo at Trinity Medical in Plano near Parker and Communication by Plano Presby.
I have known him since I was 14 yrs old when I babysat his kids and he has been my older son's pedi from the time he was 3 months because I lived in California and has been my youngest son's pedi since he was 2 wks old.
I just LOVE him and my son also had a lot of ear infections and had tubes put in at 13 months by Dr A. Coffey which she did a terrific job. He has only had 1 ear infection since then and it was minor compared to the others.

Please let me know if you would like for info.
