Looking for a New Ob/gyn

I have been seeing a really good doctor for 4 years, but now that we are having fertility issues, it seems like her services are lacking. She is wonderful, but her staff can be really rude, and when you want a nurse to talk to you it's like pulling teeth. I also am tired of being put off whenever I have questions. I have been taking clomid for a year and I want to know what else is in store for us. It's obviously not working so what's the next step? I was told very rudely by a nurse that if I don't like the advice I'm getting, I'm more than welcome to seek a fertility specialist. That did it for me and I am looking for someone that can really listen and help us. My dh is as frustrated as I am and we are so ready for another baby! Any suggestions would be great!!!

What can I do next?

I really like Dr. Christine Brass at True Harmony Wellness Center on Arizona Avenue and Baseline. She kind of merges Eastern and Western Medicine.

Hi C.,

Many fertility issues are actually diet-related. A recent client of mine finally go pregnant after we made some changes in her diet and home environment. She's due in a couple of weeks!

I actually do dietary consulting, if you're interested in talking with me. If yes, call my office at ###-###-#### or email me at ____@____.com wishes to you!

C.,

I had to seek and infertility specalist 7 years ago. Dr. Randall Craig and his staff are wonderful. The he is in the east valley. My daughter is 6 and I know I would not have her if it was not for Dr. Craig and staff. Just be careful, I did not think I could get pregnant on my own due to my infertiltiy issues and I am now 40 and pregnant with baby number 3. My first daughter who is almost 14 is also an infertitliy baby. Funny how life is sometimes.

I feel your pain. We are on year #3 of infertility and it has been the hardest experience I have ever gone through. We did one round of IUI with no luck and then to find out my husband's cortizols levels were too low. So it took us almost 3 years to find that out. And we did because we went to a natural path dr. He looked into more things than anyone else did. He is in Tempe and his number is ###-###-#### Dr. McCarthy at Protea MEdical Center His email is ____@____.com
Good luck!!

I've been very pleased with Contemporary Care for Women and refer all my girlfriends to them. They have both a Gilbert and a Tempe office and a website to give you contact info www.careforwomen.net. My personal favorite is Dr. Tamanaha, but I think any of the physicians in this group would be great. I alway am treated with courtesy by both back and front office personel. Best wishes. I'm a Certified Nurse Midwife, stay at home mom of 1 (soon to be 2).

I don't personally have any experience with this doctor, but a good friend of mine (who also lives in the valley) has had some fertility issues and she swears by Candace Lew. She has been seeing this doctor throughout her 3 pregnancies and has nothing but good things to say...
My friend lives in Mesa so I am sure this doctor is somewhat local. I don't know if this will be helpful, but I thought I would pass it on just in case . Best of luck to you!

Also, If you want a good ob/ gyn in Gilbert I have used the contemporary care for women group for over 10 years and I have no complaints. My doctor is Dr. Tamanaha and he is very professional, but relaxed and easy to talk to about ANYTHING. Even if you just want to change doctors based on your recent experience, I like these guys too. Again, hope it helps and good luck!! -S

Hi C.,
I am sorry you have been having so much trouble. I absolutely LOVE my OB. He also specializes in fertility issues. His name is Dr. Craig Seal. He is Tempe on Baseline and Price. I went into labor at 27 weeks with my last baby, and he saved my pregnancy when no one else thought it was possible. I delivered a very healthy baby boy at 37 weeks!! He listens to every concern I have, no matter how silly they may be! He also has one of the lowest miscarriage rates in the valley, probably cuz he sees you as soon as you test positive. He doesn't mess around, he gets straight to the point. Like I said he saved my baby several times. Even up to the last second. (I had an emergency c-section) My sister-in-law was having issues with fertility as well when one dr told her that she would never be able to have kids, well after she saw dr seal, she has been able to have 3! I absolutey recommend him!!!! His staff is so super nice and caring as well. He is incredible!!!
His phone number is ###-###-####
his address is 1979 E. Baseline Rd. # 101

Hi C.,
I work with a Naturopath, we have many alternative things that may be of great interest to you.
Dr. Lindstrom is a very good OBGYN, in Mesa and Chandler, brothers~~ Joseph and Brian, they were awsome back eleven years ago when I had my last baby...
I have several web sites and recorded calls for you to listen to if your not pregnant and are trying. It is a much simpler way and very little cost. Get back to me and i will share my knowledge with you...

I had Goodman & Partridge - first on Williams Field and Lindsay, then Power & Galveston and then Frye/Dobson which I stick with Michelle Brown, NP at G&P Frye/Dobson.

But, because of my miscarriage history, and my first son had autism, they had me get ultrasound for birth defects at this OB office:
Dr. Robert Wolfson
Neonatologist

Good Luck!

I saw that he is already mentioned but Dr. Randall Craig at the Fertility Treatment center just off the 101 between Elliot and Warner, he and his staff are wonderful. Also mentioned before contemporary care for women at McClintock and Guadalupe, Dr. Linnerson and his nurse Michelle. The staff and office is always polite and helpful.

Best of luck.

Lots of incompetant, uncaring, and insensitive doctors offices these days! Anyways, sorry you're dealling with that. I had good luck (as did freinds of mine) at the "Fertility Treatment Center" in Tempe, off the 101. I was put on a different drug (not clomid), and progesterone cream (that's essential!). Also, I got an ovulation injection to know exactly when I was ovulating--it was great! I struggled for 3 years trying for a baby (lots of turmoil) and wish I had found this place sooner. I did, however, have to be very forward about demanding ALL the info I needed to make it work for me... (that meant calling the nurse several times to help me understand things), but they were very nice and helpful. This place is high tech and up-to-date with meticulous schedules of fertility options. Clomid by itself is not the only answer nowadays, (and to be honest, it's sort of outdated in it's drug class anyways.) Good luck--it's such an unfair thing. P.S. it's doc Randall Craig

Infertility can be tough to deal with, especially when you want another baby so badly. Although I can't recommend a Dr, I can tell you that sometimes it just doesn't happen even when the clomid is working. I took clomid for 6 years to get my 3rd child. Each year, they did ultrasounds to confirm that the clomid was working, and it was. I know this is hard to hear, because I know how it feels to ache so much for another child. I firmly believe that each child has a purpose for coming to earth, and they are sent by God at the time when it's right for them, not for us. Know that God knows you, and He knows your desire to raise a child. Love your daughter and enjoy her as much as you can. Try to have patience, and your faith will grow through this experience.
