hi everyone--
my 2.9-year-old daughter doesn't need the sippy cup anymore, but i would like her still to use a (somewhat) leak-proof cup for meals. she can handle a regular cup with care, but i don't want to have to be so mindful about the cup. she does use the take & toss spill proof cups for water at home (but they aren't so leak-proof), and she's fine with straws. i read mixed reviews about bottles such as the contigo.
any thoughts on what is a good transition cup? they're so many choices!

You can get a Nuby one at Walmart for a dollar. I really like these...they were easy to clean & you can alter the flow. Good luck
We just use little cups, so if they spill not much is spilled - like Dixi Cup size :)
My kids love those cups that have built in straws on the side. So they can drink like a regular cup or they most often just use the straw. there is no lid so it is open like a cup.

We use the Nuby with the straw, it's super leak proof, make sure it's the one with the straw and not just the straw tip that they have to still tip. We've been using this since she was 1 and got off the bottle and it's great.. and it's not super expensive (like $2 maybe?).
What about a sports bottle? My 21 month old daughter does really well with them. My hubs even found a metal one for kids with her name on it, so she can't squeeze it and make a mess. She also likes Tervis Tumblers. If we leave one where she can reach our drink becomes hers. If she drops it, only a little drips out.
I like Camelbak cups for age 3+. They are leak free and a must for school
lunchbox. You can buy spout replacements when/if they get worn out.
my favorite is...there are never any drops- the sippy cup from Music Together.
Next best because it's not plastic is the glass kind with a plastic cover
they both work great
